Default Edit In Game - I'm Confused
Hi,
I posted a question about this on The Sims forums HERE and was told to come here.

In short, I asked EA how I can edit in game because I couldn't bypass Origin. The person told me something to do with installing it all through origin and then getting the Sims 3 folder from my program files and sticking it on my desktop. Anyway, because it took a whole day to install the base game I couldn't do it, and today I went to contact them just so I could find out again what exactly to do.

The guy told me that I needed to repair the game through origin - an option that doesn't even appear.

I really have no idea what to try anymore. Any ideas?

The CAW section would have fit better for this question... http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=616

But, anyway, which base game version do you have, the original or the newer Go-Social version? See, there are 2 different versions of the base game available in Origin. The one works with Edit-in-Game and one does not (post-Showtime Go-Social version). I think you probably have that one. I don't think there is any other solution to your problem, than getting the older version of the base game.

If you do have the Original base game, then the problem lies somewhere else.

The CAW forum at the official site is the most active I'm aware of. You might ask over there.

I do have the social version >.< That's a pain.

I did ask over at the official forums and they said it would best be asked here.

Yeah, that's the root of the problem right there. Maybe you could get the older, original base game from sale which Origin have every now and then. Or maybe some other place, perhaps on a disk. Base game can be found pretty cheap these days. I know it's not really fun to buy the same game twice, though.
