Default Revolutionary Restart Challenge
SYNOPSIS

If you've ever seen the TV show "Revolution", this challenge is based off of that I don't know if this has been done but I couldn't find it, so if it has please let me know so I can link it, give the owner credit, and don't come off as copying!

So basically in this challenge it differs from regular apocalypse challenges in the way that there is no disease or zombies involved. Instead, there was a huge worldwide and permanent power blackout. Everything stopped functioning - cars, appliances, lights, jet engines, boats - you name it. This means that there are many things your sim would normally use that they now can no longer use. Society was left in shambles, and the government began breaking down, leaving law to the people. This created anarchy, and many people died in the process due to panic, control, and fear. The towns that are left are now in shambles, and the people there are trying to rebuild society using villages.

PREPARING

Initially I suggested the world Roseward, however after playing for myself I decided that Arcadia is a much better fit. You can download here, however remember it's optional!

OPTIONAL: If you have Supernatural I would also suggest turning that off, because this is a more realistic approach. It's optional, but I would highly recommend it! I've included a list of links below to help you turn supernatural creatures off. You should also mute your phone so you can't get notifications. Your sim might still play with it but I learned that if they have some kind of wild creature they caught (like a snake or a falcon) and it's in their inventory, they're much more likely to play with that than their phone.

Mod to stop zombies from spawning: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=486331
Cheat to get rid of zombies in game: Type "testingcheatsenabled true" into cheat bar, shift-click on the mailbox, and select "Supernatural Population Control ----> ZOMBIES!

ADDITIONALLY I've included some helpful mods and cc at the end of this post that might help your sim survive! There are some rules to these, so make sure to read the rules thoroughly!

RULES:

1: You may only create one sim to begin with. You can be either male or female, but you HAVE to begin as a teenager. You may choose only 1 survival trait that might help your sims survive (green thumb, kleptomaniac, brave, athletic, etc)
2: You must purchase an empty lot anywhere you'd like, however it cannot have a home or any possessions on it.
3: Once you are in game and have your lot, the first thing you have to do is get rid of all of your funds. You can do this by entering "testingCheatsEnabled true" in the cheat bar, typing "familyfunds SIMSLASTNAME 0"
4: You may not use ANYTHING that uses power or gas. You have to travel by foot or horse, you may not use lights and can instead use only candles, your cooking must be done over a fire, and you can not use normal showers/toilets/bathtubs (instead bathing in rivers and oceans).
5: You can use mods for showers/bathtubs/toilets, however ONLY after you have earned enough money to build a small shack or FENCED IN area for your sim. It doesn't have to have rooms, but it must have enough room to fit the object you're buying into it. For example you can't buy a CC medieval bathtub/shower/toilet and place it outside, it must fit inside the confines or your home. You also must earn the money it takes to make the shelter.
6: I've included a food storage cellar from CC below, but you may only use that once you have a house with at least three of the basic rooms (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen) and this can break the above rule and be placed outside.
7: You can use any means to get money except a part time or full time job. You must live off the land by gardening, fishing, collecting, scavenging, stealing, and selling.
8: You may only begin inviting people into your group once you have a fenced in area/house with enough tents/beds for the people in your group to sleep in. Once you do, you may have ONE baby (no more than that) if you'd like.
9: (OPTIONAL) Many flowers are worth a lot of money, so if you want to refrain from collecting flowers that might make it more difficult.
10: IMPORTANT! When you have a baby, that sim is required to move out when it becomes a YA and begin a life of it's own. The only difference is that you can begin with up to half of the funds left over by the the family it is moving away from.
11: Pets are welcome, however there are some restrictions. For a horse, you must have a fenced in place for your horse to stay outside. For your dog, you must buy a dog house before you can get a dog. For a cat, you must have a scratching post before you can get a cat. Horses are used for transportation and dogs and cats can hunt for food. You also must be able to care for your animal or they'll run away!

GOAL:

The goal is to rebuild a village from the ground up and make it to the fifth generation with the fifth generation being as successful as possible with the most money as possible!
