Utter, complete newb starting place?
Hi. I'm a Sims 3 player, but have NO CLUE how to make stuff. Like, ZERO idea of where to start.

The 'easy' part is, I'd like to update some stuff from the Sims 2 to Sims 3. (At least it will not require any art from me, as I have no artistic ability.)

I have heard of Milkshake and The Sims Workshop, though. But, I don't know anything about them.

Any suggestion on where a newb like me can start?

Thanks,
Kim/blackwood13

This site helped me out a lot! But for the sims 3, I would use TSRW 1.72 because the latest TSRW are very corrupted and will not work with the sims 3 as it used to. So here are a few links:

TSRW wiki: http://wiki.thesimsresource.com/ind...ry:TSR_Workshop
If you want to go somewhat advanced: http://wiki.thesimsresource.com/ind...ating_Tutorials
And Youtube will do amazing as well!

Though Milkshape 3D has a trail, and i'm sure this site doesn't like me, or others to link you to a 'free' version of it. But you'll need Milkshape 3D 1.8.5 BETA: http://www.milkshape3d.com/
If you want to get into meshing, you could try Milkshape 3D, but I find it a bit hard since you don't have a full '3D viewer' in this way that you can't really edit anything in the 3D viewer. You can with a certain shortcut, but i'm not really comfortable with using Milkshape 3D. I use Blender instead, but any other 3D program would do fine!

Let me know if you still have trouble understanding ^-^
