Every time I try to do package files the logo that it is supposed to have is replaced with a paint icon and it does not open with the game. Every since I first installed The Sims 3 and Sims 2 it has always showed up with paint and it tries to open it with paint not with the game. any Idea why?

Perhaps you had it saved when you downloaded a .package to "Open with. . ." then with Paint and had a "Do this every time" or "Remember this" box checked? I'm not sure how you would go about fixing that though if that even is what's happened. Although, what do you mean by "Every time I try to do package files"? Try to download them? I've never had to "open" up .package files per se because the way I download them is just plopping them in the Packages folder. Have you ever tried to retexture or mod any .package files with Paint?
