Default My computer runs Sims 2 Ultimate Collection slowly?
Hai! I built a computer two months ago with the budget of $800. All games have been running fine on it (even Sims 3) but when I installed Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, the game is pretty choppy. I cant even play on speed three without it having lag. Speed one is okay but there is some lag. Any suggestions? Here are my system specs

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor

Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Note: only one is working so 4GB)

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card

Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

Can't believe people still read these.

Maybe all the expansion packs and stuff packs is just too much, do you play with all expansion apcks and stuff packs in The Sims 3 without the same problem? If yes I will be surprised.
I don't know what kind of advice to give you, but you could try to get the AnyGame starter, perhaps you could try out just playing with a few expansion and stuff packs? And then as you go on testing certain combinations you can test the limit of what is an okay number of expansion and stuff packs? After that you could manually uninstall certain expansion and stuff packs from the Ultimate Collection (I think).

And, do you perhaps have a lot of CC?

Oh and your profile picture is broken

I think the profile pic is supposed to look like that

AGS doesn't work with UC and you can't take individual packs out. It's all or nothing.

I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

I don't know if you have a PC or Mac. Go to your all program ( Start icon ) and look for "Disk Cleanup" do that first, then go back to the same place and look for "Disk Defragmenter" That will line up your files on your hard drive,
To improve system performance ( need to do that about once a month ) also check to be sure your > Card Driver is "updated". But since you said you build your computer I am sure you know these things.
If you have not done so those things keep your computer in a healthy condition.

Try and "Set Affinity" to just 1 core and see if that works for you.
