Default In your Skin
Well, we have a lot of game threads, which, I admit, are fun, but how about some more good ol' discussion threads!
From what I've gathered from living in this social group (it's pretty much the only place I post nowadays), the majority of posting members are teenagers. Another thing I know is that often teenagers have that funerific thing we like to know as pimples! Oh don't we love them *stabstab*?
So, I was wondering, to avoid those nasty breakouts, what skin care product do you use? Do you use natural products, or are you into the chemicals?

I've used a massive range of different skin care products over the years, and I've always had -problem- skin. I used seaweed skin care products from The Body Shop for a while, which kept my skin fairly clear, but there were still blemishes. I came to my senses after a while and figured that if I was paying as much as I was paying for it, I should have clear skin. So I gave up and moved onto more natural products, the tea tree range, once again, from The Body Shop.
I finally got sick of not having results and nearly throwing up from the smell of the tea tree whenever I washed my face, so I changed again. After much scouting out, I decided on ProActiv. It's expensive, but I'm lucky enough to have a shop in my local area so I don't have to order and get it in the mail. After two weeks of using it, I'm very happy with the results. My skin is visibly clearer, and I'm really enjoying it.
In my family, problem skin is genetic. My brother tried a massive range of products before he eventually went to see a specialist, and now he's on medication to control his breakouts. I didn't want to go on the same medication because of side effects and I don't want to have to remain on a tablet for the rest of my teenhood for clear skin.

So ladies, what do you use to keep your skin looking lovely?

Clearasil best thing I ever had, I don't know if it's because I'm young or too old (because I never get pimples) I only get like dry skin and irritant bumps. But some times I get pimples on my period, so I use Clearasil and it truly do work like a charm. The nonsensitive skin burns like hell, but it's so good~ it takes about a day to kick in for me (no lying) But it might not work for everyone.

My family is the breed of the baby face, so we all have soft skin and look like ten year olds. But we do get the occasional break out. My skin gets dry around my nose and my cheeks get really dark, so do under my eyes; my skin also gets droopy and looses it elasticness. Some times lotion takes away the darkness, but sometimes nothing help. Only when I feel real tired and crappy do my face get dark, but when I'm happy and feeling really good, my skin is glowing and my face is baby smooth.

I have cacophobia, hobophobia, menophobia, tremophobia, levophobia, dextrophobia, and phobophobia. I manage...

Alot of what the expensive ones are, is the packaging. ProActive just doesn't work for me, or my friend.

I don't get many pimples, but, when I do, I use BellaClear or Clean 'n' Clear.

I dunno if they sell BellaClear over shelves, lol, we just got it in the mail one time, but it really works.

Oh, hi, how are you holding up?

Yeah, it is true that a lot of the expensive ones are is just the packaging, but I'm really happy with ProActiv, even if it just is the packaging.
I used Clearasil before, but it never kept my skin all that clear. I've tried Clean 'n' Clear as well, but it made my skin really itchy.

I barely use anything, but sigh. Most everyone gets breakouts alot.

My friend whines SO much about her skin. She uses Clean n Clear that I bought her, and she washes her face ALL the time.

I was at her house a few weeks ago, okay, and she said "I'm gonna go wash my face." She keeps her clean n clear in her parents bedroom because her mom 'borrows' it anyways.
She burst open the door without knocking, and OMG it was sooo embarassing. Imagine, at your friends house, you half follow her to her parents room, HER PARENTS ROOM. My god. I'm not going to say what i saw, bad memories, bad memories.
Middle of the night. God.
It's a bit off topic, but that's how much she hates her pimples.

yeah Clean 'n' Clear was just a good face cleaner, it never really helped with my skin. I hear ProActiv is good, my sister has it but she's all stingy and stuff about her good things so I never used it . She kind of threw her Clearasil at me because it burns her face (she has mega super sensitive skin). But like I said, I'm still a baby, or I'm to old for the pimply adolescence to get pizza face.

I have cacophobia, hobophobia, menophobia, tremophobia, levophobia, dextrophobia, and phobophobia. I manage...

The wave works too, but it tightens my skin soo much, maybe cuz it's so full of makeup. I use alot of foundation, just to look not like a vampire lol.

I always break out on my chin, or my forehead but I don't notice that cuz my bangs lol.

Elice, your sister has sensitive skin but still uses ProActiv? That's surprising. It contains an agent which is very harsh on sensitive skin. I did a three day patch test before full face use to check if my skin was too sensitive, but luckily it wasn't.

Yeah, they have a bottle for sensitive skin, but I don't know if it burns her or not (she's kind of the beauty is pain type of girl) But she's older now, so she hardly get pimples, and when she do she either let time take care of it or apply make up (she's a cosmology queen) I haven't seen her using it recently, but she still have a bottle of Clearasil too.

I have cacophobia, hobophobia, menophobia, tremophobia, levophobia, dextrophobia, and phobophobia. I manage...

I laugh at your adolescent skin problems.

Also, I suggest using simply a skin cleanser with no harsh chemicals (St. Ives is what I used). Wash your face once a day, at night and an oil free moisturizer (St. Ives, again) afterward. It's important to do this at night and not in the morning because washing strips away essential oils that protect your skin through the day. Also important is to wear (everyday) a sunscreen, either by using a foundation with sunscreen or a moisturizer with sunscreen, a minimum of SPF 15 (I actually have to use SPF 100 because the sun and I do not get along).

Typically, anything you put on your face that isn't based off natural ingredients, is going to screw with your skin's pH balance, and you don't mess with mother nature. Things like that can more often than not make your skin problems worse.
