second, isn't Sims about real life? it looks a lot like Sims to me so I don't think it will be that much more realistic to me

I wanted to echo this post. I, for one, am looking forward to playing it, but I am not going to use my full details, if any details. If anything, I might just create a fake account just to check the game out.

I guessing in essence its going to be like a massively multiplayer online GTA, so like APBR, but without the killing and stuff, so more along the lines of PS Home or Second Life, but based off of ourselves?

Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

You are right, I could create fake accounts to play this but it really does not appeal to me enough to go through the trouble.

I have never thought sims was about real life particularly. I have always thought of it as a sort of idealized pixel world where I have all the control.

I just think I'll give this one a skip. I am sure a lot of people will love it though.
*Also I hate online games, I guess I just don't play well with others

I like online games, but I dislike the players who take the fun out of it for me whenever they choose to behave like trolls.

I really don't like the idea of it being intrusive... because it sounds that way.

If it had the people on MTS playing it, I'd play it.

I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT.

not sure I've experienced that in online games

anyway what I hate about online games is when they leave because you're taking too long of a turn. for example, I remember playing checkers and when I was thinking about the best move I could make, they left the room
idk why some online players have to be so impatient...honestly I'm like the most impatient person ever and I'm perfectly content with waiting for the other person to make their move. I just do something else that won't distract me from knowing when they are done (i.e. listen to music) while I'm waiting for them

I agree. When I used to play the mini games in TSO, it was sometimes like that.

Me too. But if you've noticed, going on other Sims things, or even YouTube Sims videos, not everyone is as... skilled in not sounding like an ass when they type as the people from MTS are.

I know it's been months since this thread has had a reply, but I thought I'd share some news about the fact that Hivemind might not end up happening. Apparently, Will Wright is being sued to where he might not be able to continue with the game. Well, at least, it's in legal limbo at this time. Darn, I was really looking forward to this game because it sounded interesting.

Sorry for being a dead thread necromancer, but there is an update on the case; it apparently had been settled earlier this month (or late last month). The game may resume production after all. I hope it does because I am looking forward to it as well.

I just noticed this thread now. I have to keep remembering to check it.

Wow, so that is an awesome find, CowPlantsForHire! I seriously hope this game gets a chance because of its uniqueness. I still wish Will Wright could develop The Sims 4, though. Oh, well.

Sounds intrusive to me, don't like the idea of 'collecting data on you' bit.

Yeah, at least with The Sims you can make it up on your own, not really requiring EA to get to know you that much except for when it comes to new features..or "features" depending on whether or not they are good.
If a game had to get to know me for me to play it would find a lot of...interesting information. Not porn, though, don't worry. But...it would be weird. Like gay kitties in drag fighting zombies or some bull. With Sherlock in the background wondering how it even happened.

Sherlock is beautiful. That is all. Well, almost all. I'm a guy, so don't confuse that. Also I'm a Timelord....ok I lied about that one. I would like to be a Timelord though!

Hmm... Well, I suppose if anyone was going to conquer the world it might as well be Will Wright. Who knows, maybe we'll all get our very own PlumbBob.

I'm still not understanding it -- are you supposed to like, tell the game your name, age, height, weight, appearance, friends, family, favourite food, gender, job, school, and other PERSONAL information...?

You'd get a ton of short, thin, large nosed, geeky sushi loving trans boys who like to make comics killing zombies and saving kittens. Fun But still!!! Creepy info stealing.
