This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Weird looking neighbourhoods?
So, basically, I have a problem with rivers in my neighbourhoods. No matter what neighbourhood I use, custom and Maxis-made, the rivers look awful.
Here's a screenshot from a newly created neighbourhood:

How do I fix this?
I mean, the screenshots of other people all have a good looking river, but I don't?
Thanks in advance!

It is probably due to low graphics settings. Try to adjust the graphics settings of game or go in fullscreen. If that doesen't work, it is probably because the theme of windows 7 is not aero theme, so change the theme. If either do not work, the problem is in your graphic card :D

I'm following the steps, but behind my chiptype there's no hex number as that tutorial says there should be, so I don't really get much further with this... Thanks though. See? It's not there...

Well, my graphics are all on high. In full screen I have the same problem, and my graphics card is newer than the game, as far as I know...

Try changing classic windows theme to aero theme. Some games have drasticaly lower graphics when that theme is on.

Let me test that.
Edit: Doesn't work, not even in full screen. Still no solution thus far then...

To find the hex # try and follow what I had to do in this tread http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=8641.0

Most on-board video chips can be damage by playing Sims 2, you can read up on it here http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...nboard_Graphics

Your chip should already be in the VideoCards.sgr file. To use that workaround, you'd just need to edit the settings for the chip in Graphics.sgr - but bear in mind that Graphics.sgr contains low-quality settings for your chip for a reason; that reason being that the chip sucks, and playing TS2 on it with high settings has the potential to damage the chip.

DO NOT do this tutorial. That tutorial is for computers with really good graphics cards. You don't even have a graphics card. So, the tutorial will do nothing except increase the strain on your already overworked computer.

Here is an article which explains the problem, and gives you some potential solutions:

Your water looks like that because you don't have a graphics card and unless you have money to throw away I would be turning those graphic settings down not putting them on high. Chips are not made for gaming you have to nurse them. I would be turning shadows off and putting all settings that don't really matter on low.

Up in my post # 10 why did some one disagree with what I posted.

1. How to find hex #.
2. Most on-board video chips can be damage by playing Sims 2.

Why would any one disagree with these 2 statements.

And to xDemoiselleGothique glad you got it fixed but be warned that onboard video can be damage by playing Sims 2.
