Ghost Collecting
I'm trying to make a collection of all the ghost hunter spirits, but I can't find any evil spirits, or more specifically, an ancient evil spirit, they'd make a really interesting decor.Is there anywhere I can look to find them more often, or force them to be available, or even a download/mod that makes it available?

I found one on my first ghosthunter mission. (Both Ancient and Evil) .. It's random. Just keep trying to catch spirits and eventually you'll get one.

Once you get to rank 10 of the ghost hunting career you get an item similar to the collection helper that allows you to see where spirits are in your town, and also whether they are visible yet or not. You can even click on their tag on the map and select scan if they're still invisible. This should give you more opportunities to find an evil one since you don't have to wait for jobs to show up.
I have had a few cases where I couldn't scan for a spirit - most often in one of the fishing spots in the swamp, I believe. It felt like it was stuck underground or something. My sim would immediately drop the scan interaction from her queue whenever I tried on this particular spot. Also, in the larger junk yard, there was a spirit stuck on a foundation "island" and while my sim was able to make it visible, she couldn't path close enough to suck it up. Ah well.

Yep. that's how I found my only evil sprit (and ancient, too - do they only come in that variety?). It got a special place in the lab of my ex-ghost hunter inventor .
I never actually finished my collection of ghosts though. The ghost-hunter career became too repetitive to be fun anymore .

I also have several spirits I can't get to because they are in walled in areas or within rabbit holes. Very annoying.

Has anyone come up with a mod like this since the original post? Would love to see one that makes all ghosts ancient, or even allows you to change the type of a ghost.

If it's spirits you're asking about (ghosts are a different critter) I have a mod that gives even chances on all types of spirits being spawned, Ghosthunter Spirits Equal Availability or something similar it's called; at the link in my sig.
