This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Converting Life Stories Neighborhoods to Sims 2
Hi,
I followed this tutorial here:
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...0&topic=7267.25
(Post #32)

I finished the stories and made a least 1 change (also at Vincent's and Riley's house)
and imported the neighborhoods into an anygame (AnyGameStarter is working for me now ...)
The Anygame has the required EPs and also some other but anyway...

I can't do these steps...
Quote:
Step 6: I've made extracted ID Numbers available for download: http://www.box.net/public/75d090iaah After downloading this file, unzip it and you will have three folders called 1, 2, 3.

Step 7: Open one of the N00#_Neighborhood.package files and find ID Number on the left. Click on it and it will come up on the right. Right-click and select Replace. Browse to the folder called 1 (downloaded from me) and select either of the files inside. Save. Open the next file, and replace ID Number with the one from the folder called 2. Then do the third file.

Is there an other download link for the ID numbers or can I also create empty neighborhoods (as reference) and "steal" their ID number and set it to the "Life Stories Neighborhoods"?

I completed the tutorial, thank you.
I also load the neighborhood - I can load it but when I want to enter a house/family it crashes...

It may work if I move the families out and then move them again in...
Edit:
I tried it, I moved the Harlow family to the bin and then I moved them again into their house - it crashed.
I did another try... I moved them out but I moved them into a new house - it crashed again...
I did the 3rd try...I moved them out and moved them into an empty new lot which I freshly placed into the 'hood. It doesn't crash but it loads and loads and never ends... I'm sure it was longer than usual...anyway I quitted the game.

Could it work if I create a new family and move them into a freshly created/placed lot?

Edit 2:
I created a family in CAS und moved them into a freshly placed lot and it worked just fine... It doesn't crash if I load it and the loading screen is really quick.
I played a bit there - I worked nice... Even the paper delivery girl came and no errors occured... also the same with a random townie.
It crashed later because of the welcoming wagon... I think I saw Dylan Kincaid shortly before it crashed...

Here's a summary of everything:

- Loading an occupied maxis house (ex. the Harlow family) ----- it crashes
- Moving maxis families to the bin and move they again to their original or to another maxis house ----- it crashes
- Moving maxis families to the bin but move them into a new placed lot ----- it doesn't crash but it never ends loading
- Creating new families and move them into maxis (starter) houses ----- it crashes
- Creating new families but move them into a new placed lot ----- it doesn't crash and it loads just fine - it works, I can play there...

Anyway, here's the question:

I know it's possible to copy streets, trees, terrain and other neighborhood decor to an empty neighborhood (with HoodReplacer)
but I know all of the maxis sims are broken. Can I clone them in SimSurgery in SimPE and recreate them in the new neighborhood?

But what about lots? I can't open them - they always force crashes.
Is there a similar programm for copying lots like for sims (Sim Surgery)?

Now after you move the Sims out can you enter the house, go to a new lot you just place down and make a small change to be able to save then go back to hood view and see if you can enter the house, if you can enter the house then make small change and save and see if you can package up the lot or move the lot to the bin.

Yes you can clone the Sims.

Mootilda's has said in another post that she got them to work but I have never been able to, maybe we can get Mootilda to share her copy's.

I tried it out.
I moved the Harlow family out and loaded the house - it just crashed
I believe by copying the neighborhoods without finishing and even without starting the stories would load well because it has never been saved there - it may load really long but this can be fixed by saving at least one time in Sims 2 NOT in LS...
Could it work then?

Edit: I did it. I copied the neighborhoods from Program Files instead of from Documents and I got these results:

In Riley's Story neighborhood, there a lot of families which can't be load:

-Fortuna
-Harlow
-Sinclair
-Smith

Although these families can be load:

-Kincaid
-Tchotochke

Unfortunately there are lots which can't be load:

-15 Hyacinth Circle
-Old Grove Park (community lot)
-Old Grove Gardens (community lot)

These lots can be loaded without any issues:

-12 Hyacinth Circle
-19 Hyacinth Circle
-17 Hyacinth Circle
-23 Hyacinth Circle
-Starlight Cafe and Market (community lot)
-Lead's Gym (community lot)
-The Corner Boutique (community lot)

I did a check in Free Play neighborhood and the results are a bit different...
These families CAN be load in Free Play but NOT in Riley's Story:

-Fortuna
-Sinclair
-Stardust
-Margison

These lots can be loaded without any issues in Free Play 'hood but not in Riley's Story 'hood:

- Riley Harlow's house
- Old Grove Park... Old Grove Gardens is within Old Grove Park
In Riley's Story 'hood they are two separate lots which both can't be loaded (see above) but in Free Play 'hood, they both are 1 lot instead of 2 and it just loads fine.

Unfortunately though these lots can't be loaded in Riley's Story 'hood but also not in Free Play 'hood:

-Mickey Smith's house
-15 Hyacinth Circle

P.S. I only tested the lots of "Riley's Story" and "Free Play"
"Vincent's Story" is still untouched except deleting the version number and fixing up the Neighborhood ID...

If I would create an empty neighborhood and clone everything from Four Corners except lots and move the working lots to the bin and place them into the neighborhood again... could it work then?
In that case I only need to recreate Mickey's house and 15 Hyacinth Circle...

Or should we wait for Mootila's copy?

There is the one at Simbology who is doing it and we could wait for either one.
Some where I found all the houses but I don't remember where I got them from but they need all EP/SP to use.

One of these days I will do a base game only but I will only include the playable Sims with no houses. Most players change the houses any way and it would be to much work to rebuild the houses in a base game.

I recreated all the broken lots (only 2) by taking a lot of pictures of that lot in LS and then finally recreate it in Sims 2.
I tried to be as perfect as the original and I also fixed some issues.

I'll do the same for Bitville but for now, I'm only focusing on Four Corners...

I posted a snapshot.
All of the lots loads just fine - no crash and the loading screen is really quick.
And they aren't any charcters but I didn't use the cheat deleteAllChracters...

I followed this tutorial here (only Step 1 - creating an empty neighborhood without sims)

I figured it out!
Firstly, the stories must be finished and every lot must be loaded and saved. Riley's and Vincent's house must be saved one more time after entering free play mode.
Anyway, I created an anygame with only UNI, NL,OFB and I followed the tutorial.
I imported everything from LS to TS2 (including careers, roofs) and everything loaded just fine.

I saved every lot in a Uni, NL, OFB game and imported it into an all EPs/SPs game (including Mansion and Garden) at everything loaded just fine.

Summary:
You have to save every lot in Sims Life Stories and later you have to save all lots in an "only Uni, NL, OFB game" and then, they can be played in an all EPs game.

Go ahead and google for "Life Stories Objects Converted for Sims 2" or something similar like that and download the careers, roofs, furniture etc. otherwise your game will crash.
