Would you try just one more thing for me? I assume that you've been changing the existing launcher shortcut. Try creating a brand new shortcut, using the full path for Sims2EP9.exe, rather than modifying the existing shortcut.

Sure will can't get game to run at all now. None of the icons or files (start-all programs-ea games-game name) works. I'll let you know if this fixes it I appreciate your help with this!

ok so game isn't starting at all no matter where I try to start it from. Luckily I created a restore point just after I finished installing everything. I'm gonna reset to that point and try what we went through above again, and hopefully that will help. My cd drive isn't reading so I have a feeling theres something up with my pc. Hopefully restoring will help but I'll let ya know. Again I appreciate your help with this!!

Ok, after restoring everything back to the way it was, I tried what we went through above and I tried making a new shortcut. The computer accespts the changes in the icon but will not start the game, or game launcher. I can bring up the launcher by clicking on the Apartment life icon though. However the game will not start no matter where I try to start it from. I really hope I don't have to reinstall all games cause my cd drive crashed

It's possible that running the game on your integrated graphics card has damaged your computer enough that it can no longer run the game.

If you do decide to reinstall, try just installing the base game. Play for a while and see whether you have any problems. Each EP that you install will put more strain on your computer. Also, the later EPs will put more of a strain than the earlier ones. Playing with the base game, University, and Nightlife may work OK, but playing with the base game and Apartment Life may be too much for your computer to handle.

Here are some other suggestions for dealing with integrated graphics:

You might also want to give us your system specs:

>Here are the specs on the template from the page you linked last. If its too much info let me know exactly what is needed if not this whole report plase. I'll look into the integrated graphics link here in a sec. Did restore twice and game launcher comes up and I hit play then nothing happens. Tried starting via start menu and still nothing. I'm hoping the card isn't damaged. My cd drive isn't working right so I can't reinstall anything that I have the cd for.

no updates available for the driver at this time is what Nvidia's site says. Somehow the game started working again. I tried by selecting the base game and the cd drive actually worked enought and told me to run the fun with pets collection. I clicked on it, launcher came up, game played. Not gonna mess with that launcher til I get a different computer (hoping to get all sims3's at that time too). Thanks for your help with all of this. Sorry my pc is a hunk of junk

Unfortunately, I'm not great on hardware. So, you might have to wait for someone more knowledgeable in that area.

Certainly, the likelihood of integrated graphics supporting all EPs to AL is pretty low.

Thinkin its something with my dinosaur of a laptop. Took out all download, reinstalled bob, added a few downloads and got same issue, and some base game items are invisible now like the adjustable plain shelf's, the biggest floor tv. The pic shows in the catalog but when I go to place them, they are invisible lol. Idk. Can get a lot more items downloaded than I lose in K&B when it's erased so I'll stick with those for now our desktop computer didn't have this issue but it was newer.

Thanks again for helping in trying to figure this mess out, I greatly appreciated it!!

Ok, so somewhere in all this, files for Apartment life were duplicated and I deleted the wrong ones. Reinstalled, but didn't try to bypass launcher since I last wrote here. Out of the blue I get a whim to try it tonight and the frickin thing is working lol. Thanks for all your help!!

Have a good one ;D

6/2/2012- Launcher bypassed and the K&B pack keepts deleting itself.
