Default Boots texture overlaps on pants
Hi! I was making these boots and when I was testing them I found this:

That does not happen in shorts, skirts and short pants.

Do you know how to fix it? This doesn't happen with basegame boots. If it helps, I've cloned the mary jane shoes from basegame. I tried changing the mesh comments but the problem persists.

Thanks! ^-^

The texture setup is a bit diffrent between shoes and skintight boots.
Did you try the afShoesAnkleAHiHeelPointy01_thighHighBoot instead?

If you want to keep this package then try to update your partmask texture and see if that makes a diffrence.(copy the thighhighboot partmask texture link and use it on your custom boots to test it)

I'm doing this for teens now, and the problem is back! I changed the mesh comments and the partmask (tried with the Adult and Teen basegame high boots) but nothing happened :/

There is another thread here, started by exportdry that had the same problem.
But if you got it to work on the MaryJane shoes you best clone those?

Could be that you had it displaying correct only because you selected the shoes first in CAS, then a pants.
If you put on a pants first, then the shoes the shoe texture might overule again......

Ever tried to do this with TSRW?
You could clone the basegame boots with TSRW, save it as sims3pack.
convert it to package with Delphy's multiinstaller.
Open it with Postal and extract its GEOM

You then will be able to compare both MTNF settings from CTU and TSRW
Might be that CTU uses the wrong settings.

If haven't worked with the shoes yet but i have the idea it has to do with both the partmask texture and the overlay texture

Now this is getting very annoying. Even thought I "fixed" this in the adult version as you could see in the pic above, now suddenly it overlaps again! You're right, I had luck selecting the pants and the boots in the right order. I'm frustrated *sighs*
I'll try with TSRW and see if it works.

This is how textures overule eachother

1/ skin texture gets overuled by
2/ shoe texture(defined by the partmask texture) gets overuled by
3/ bottom texture(defined by the partmask texture) gets overuled by
4/ top texture(defined by the partmask texture) gets overuled by
5/ overlay textures wich overrule everything

So its either a texture issue or CTU doesn't save the clone as the original.

Make sure you test it on basegame pants!
