Most kinds of chocolate and foods containing chocolate, salty licqorice, ice cream (preferably strawberry ice cream with strawberries and strawberry + chocolate sauce), strawberries, mango, pineapple, pancakes (either regular or my coconut flour & egg recipe - those are good with banana and jam or chocolate spread), pizza, tacos, and lots of other things. I'm not too fond of bread, but if I have to, I like toasted bread with something sweet on top, or grilled cheese&ham. Bread is best when hot and a bit crispy, and awful otherwise...

I had not gotten over "mash & chocolate Digestives" -what? when I read VerDeTerre - a BUNCH of stuff I don't know what they are. I like baked goods - if I make them myself. But I could LIVE on fresh bread and cheese.

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..

Crisp caesar salad, bread and old cheddar cheese (hubby makes fun of me for that. He says I eat like a peasant), strawberries, any sort of fish (except canned tuna), avocado, jalapeno poppers (jalapeno's stuffed with cheese and rolled in bread crumbs), and I am a sucker for salt and vinegar chips since pregnancy.

@grammapat Which ones? I'll go back and edit with a description and a link if it helps. Where are you from, btw, if you don't mind sharing (and you can keep it general)?

I don't know what mash is either, but digestives are a type of cookie (biscuit), right? One not super sweet, just lightly sweet or am I wrong?

Mash - potatoes that have been mashed with a masher, into a Puree

this link shows how to make them
http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipe...ashed_potatoes/

i personally think that mash potatoes taste better with out the cream
my dad usually uses king Edward potatoes to make mash and he uses a hand blender to make them so that it gets rid of the lumps quicker

@VerDeTerre
this is a picture of chocolate digestives

What is this? It sounds interesting.

Thanks for the info and pic about the mash and digestives, coolsim22!
They don't sell those types of cookies in my area....not that I've seen, although they look familiar. Maybe I've seen them at a store that imports a lot of foods.

You're welcome

when ever i eat mash i always think about my great grandma
she made the best mash ever and nobody in my family can make mash as good as her's

she move down south to Norfolk in 2009 to live with my uncle (grandma's brother) then she moved to a care home a few minutes away from my uncle. I've not seen her for nearly four years and i miss her a lot

she has really bad dementia so she forgets things with in minutes, she thinks my mum i still a kid and she has forgotten about me.

at least i am going to visit her next year in April

But I'd add to that:

At least parts of other countries, and/or a generation or two ago:
Breakfast
Dinner
Supper
... not so different from the UK. "Supper" is lighter than Dinner and practically amounts to Tea.

Chile, where my grandpa is from:
Breakfast: sort of Continental-style with beautiful fresh bread, jam, coffee/tea
Lunch: big, like an American dinner. Stew, or maybe shepherd's pie, etc. and a couple of hours' break from work.
Once ("own-say"): 4 - 6 pm or so, cross between British tea and Spanish cocktail hour. Drinks & light food.
Dinner: very late in the evening, sort of a reprise of lunch but probably lighter since you've sort of already had three meals today.

EDIT:

Peasants work hard & get hungry. Even if they don't call bread-plus-aged-cheese "fondue", it's still pretty great stuff.
