I can't figure out how to fulfill my Sims wants: Read a Novel, Write a Novel, Sell a Great Novel.

I can do "Write Novel" on the computer and go through the plot-element window, but after I click Ok, nothing happens, Sim starts doing something else on computer.

I can Read different genres of books, but nothing fulfill the Read Novel want. Kind of stumped.

(Is this the wrong place to ask? I'm having a hard time finding much discussion of FT gameplay anywhere.)
