Toddlers can influence people.
The Nanny was looking after Diana when her mother was out shopping, and Diana could make the nanny mend the broken toilet. It was great.

Pleasure sims have a specific-to-them only folklore song. When they sing, in a deeper than normal voice, the other sim waves their hands along to the rhythm but doesn't sing the words. It's cool having some things that not all the sims can do.

I had a second baby in a family. I forgot to get the bat box and hit randomize so that the younger sibling wasn't identical to the first one. When the baby became a toddler, I checked the personality and it looks like he got a unique set of points. FINALLY this bug was fixed at some point! It has bothered me since TS2 came out and it aggravated me when every EP came out, the problem was never fixed. I'm so glad to see that bug stomped out.

Actually, it didn't. You just did something else that bumped the randomizer during that play session.

If you go into buy mode to move a bathtub while a sim is getting into it, the sim becomes one with the tub (being, they move with it as though attached) rather than staying put. Odd.

I didn't know whether to put this in the funny things thread or this one, but, today I swear I heard the Christmas tune, "Deck the halls with boughs of holly" play as my Sim walked out the elevator.

I have just discovered that Sims may report to the police that they have seen the unsavory charlatan in action. I had no idea!

Not exactly a discovery of something altogether new, since I've known how this feature worked for a long time, more a discovery of a new way to use it- the greenhouse walls are the same height as normal walls (check), and create second-floor tiles in the area above them (check), BUT greenhouse walls don't fall into the "indoors" shadow that occurs when an area is enclosed by normal walls(check), WHICH MEANS that even just a single greenhouse wall in place of a normal wall can let the full glory of sunlight into an enclosure (like a courtyard), and a double section (one greenhouse wall on either side of a room) will allow sunlight to properly fall even into a courtyard that appears to be completely surrounded by not only walls, but entire rooms! Very useful!

Pregnant sims can't change cat litter! It's such a cute little addition, because in real life pregnant women are advised to stay away from soiled cat litter because the bacteria is dangerous.

Before I found the screen walls here http://modthesims.info/d/243958 (which are cloned from the greenhouse walls), I used to build a back porch and closed it in with the greenhouse walls. Now I just screen the back porch in.

I'm not sure if this is due to no cleaning skills, sloppiness, or laziness but sometimes sims do not completely fill in the holes in the yard (left after a dog digs one) or even finish trimming bushes the first time they are told. On another note, I told a (clean/active) sim to pull weeds and as part of that command, he set the flamingo back up.

If their motives aren't at a high enough level, any Sims will only spend a few minutes at tasks like that before they stop, and they definitely won't autonomously continue gardening beyond one plant (the way a high-motive Sim will). Check and see if it only happens when a motive bar is particularly low...

I discovered that some seriously floofy cc hair sneaked into my game somehow. I'm one of those odd ducks that prefers Maxis style hairs. I just had a randomly generated townie appear with super shiny and wispy purple and white hair. Way to upstage my playables, stupid townie...

More like a re-discovery that EA doesn't check the 'work' of their employees. For the first time with UC, I'm sending a sim on vacation to test things out. Luckily I went to Twikkii first to build a small vacation home. Remembering how dark most of the lots are at night, and how cheap Maxis/EA has been with lighting, I decided to check every lot first. I found at least one room at a hotel with no floor tiles. Twikkii Beach Boardwalk is a huge, 2 story lot with no walls, just roofing over them. There is a small jewelry shop with 3 displays placed on counters against a wall, backwards. Also no register. Another stall has souviners but no register, the third is clothing with a register. No lights at all on this level. The lower level has bathrooms and nothing else, other than benches placed in several areas. A food court placed in a corner with nothing else near it and no lighting. On the beach there is the fire dance mat. I think this lot was a 4x6 and had barely anything on it. I noticed that all the lots are very big and leave little area to build anything else. Most lots will be skipped for visitors while I added some objects on a few other nice lots. Hopefully it's ready for a nice relaxing vacation, I sure could use one myself.

There only needs to be one cash register per lot, Sims will walk to the one by the clothing when they purchase souvenirs. The jewelry stands is a miss though. Both the bathrooms and the jewelry-room has lamps hang from the roof, and . And the only roof on the lot is above the jewelry stands, and that has walls. The second level of the board walk is placed on columns, and the roof above the clothing and souvenir stands are not roofs, they are awnings.
I also have lighting. Not much, but some. But it is possible that I added that and forgot about it. Don't think so though, because I don't tend to use the lights used.
Creations can be found on my on tumblr.

I did add lighting and walking across that lot for multiple item purchases is a nuisance. The lighting problem at night is a problem because of my sight. Checking out lots ahead of time, before any sims go there is worth the time to fix things or know to just avoid a lot. Mentioning the no walls was mainly because you can't place ceiling lights without cheats if there are no walls. The open-ness of it is fitting for a beach area.

Look out for the toilets at South End Beach too. The male and female doors are on the wrong toilets, so the women get the urinal. XD

Last night, playing the new custom downtown that replaced the too-glitchy old one in Drama Acres, I saw The Girl with the Nightlife Hair appear on a community lot. I decided I'd better check her out in SimPE this morning, and sure enough, she's linked to the new versions of the other Tricou bastards and to John Smith Tricou and his family. Not, however, to the now-adult original Tricou bastards, or their Tricou family - the game has generated new ones with the same names, though all the teens have new random names. Naturally this made me a little anxious, so I called up all the "uneditable" sims in the browser and arranged them by name. Sure enough, two of everybody (many of them with subtly different thumbnails, which is interesting), and everybody had unique UserIDs, GUIDs, and Instance Numbers. So I'm not going to worry about it. Too much. Drama Acres will die of existing corruption long before any of this becomes an issue, I'm sure, and I never intended to resurrect any of them anyway. |
I agree too that it shouldn't cause corruption. They are all different Sims, even if they look the same, and the live ones at least have different names. I think I'd change the hairstyles and the clothes of the new ones, to avoid confusion with your existing characters, though, if your original Tricou kids are all grown up now, it won't matter so much in their case. I think I might also change the names of the new dead Tricou's in SimPE, if only for the sake of the new Tricou kids' family trees. (I can't bring myself to call them "bastards" -- I like them too much! Two of them are now playable in my Veronaville. And more may follow. The playable ones are trying to bring them all together for a reunion.)

*Not sure if I'm posting photo right...*
Turns out that Bella is a songtress , ~ 10+ years playing Sims (not necessarily the same versions...) and it was only
while decorating that I noticed this
*EDIT*: based on her popularity, does that make Bella the Sim's Beyonce?
