Default Just started playing the Sims 2 again
I just started playing the Sims 2 again after a very long hiatus. Say maybe 5 years. Anyway, I downloaded the UC from origin. After logging in, I realized I had forgotten how to do just about everything. I couldn't remember how to get downtown because I have been playing with an open world so long. Then my sim had an aspiration to become a witch and I had to go to the wiki to figure out how to do that. I still like how many more interactions they have compared to the Sims 3. One thing that is very annoying to me right now is how long it is taking to get food when they go to a restaurant. I'm hoping there is a mod for that but I haven't looked for one yet. They are about to wet their pants waiting for food. Anyway, I'm rambling. Has anyone else just come back after so long to be a little startled about the differences? And could someone point me in the direction of the sticky for Sims 2 mods? I'm will be most grateful!!

Welcome back to the dark side wmissie048.

The Ultimate Collection Help & Tips Thread might be a good place for you to start. https://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=528853

I would suggest start with just one sim and don't attempt too much until you are comfortable with the regular things like taking care of needs. How long it takes to get served depends on how many sims are at the restaurant. You will want to go straight to the host and as soon as you are seated click on a waiter.

The most important thing is to make sure you have mod fixes in place then decide as you go what parts of the game you want to mod out/change/add in. Most things have been modded if they can be. I have not seen one for speed of service at restaurants, but you certainly don't want to arive by the time your sims hunger is down in the red, about halfway down is perfect. A handy mod is the Sim Blender. If you place that on community lots that you like to visit you can clcik on that and put your sims hunger to halfway.

Welcome back!! My husband and I downloaded TS2 UC the other night and holy cow... we're newbs all over again. We stopped playing back in 2009 when we got TS3 and forgot how to play TS2. We were so lost. We kept getting confused with what was TS2 and TS3 for everything

Order "Chef's choice" and you'll get your food faster; nor will the waiter forget about you completely.

All these TS2 Ultimate Collection threads are making me nostalgic for the Sims 1. I wonder if they ever did an UC for that.

Thanks. Might go poking around (and hope that the up to US$200 price tag is wrong).

Just bought a used copy off Amazon (.co.uk). Not even sure if I'll be able to run it on my laptop, but at £18.53 it seemed worth a try! :-)
