Default Converting Objects from TS2 to TS3
Hi, I have some content which I am looking to convert it for my own use, Its is called Tali' Zorah Nar Rayya from Mass Effect link here its is a head peace, hair, body shape and clothing. He allows me to use it with permission, and he provides it the M3d file and allows me to port the mesh to sims 3 although I am having bugs such as bones and body meshes so is their a good tutorial or some help that could help. I would prefer to use TSRW but I know how to use CTU.

As far as I know, there's no tutorial specifically on converting stuff from another game to TS3. It's a big job, since you'll probably have to reassign all the bones by hand, but apart from that, you can follow any meshing tutorial. You'll also need to make new morphs, so I suggest Cmar's Clothing Meshing for Dummies tutorial - it's in the CTU tutorials list. I don't know of any comprehensive tutorials like this for TSRW.

It's also difficult to suggest a tutorial without knowing your current skill level... do you know how to use MS3D, understand how bones work, UVMapping etc?

You'll also need to remap the clothes to "match" TS3's mapping, or any areas with skin showing through will show the wrong bit of skin.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

With clothes, I wouldn't convert the meshes. I'd use a TS3 mesh and edit it as necessary, and convert the textures. TS2 body meshes are lower-poly and it would be a huge pain in the ass to get the neck and ankles matched up properly.

Like the others said, it will not be easy, but here are some links to tutorials:

For the Head piece
Tutorial: Creating accessories

For the hair
Tutorial:Sims 3 Hair Basics

For the clothing its best to use as much parts of TS3 meshes as HP already said and maybe use these tutorials for the rest:
Tutorial: Converting sims 2 bodymeshes to sims 3/ Bone and armfix

Making medium and low detail meshes with a high detail mesh using Milkshape's direct x tool:

Good luck and just ask any questions here, if we know the answers we can help you.
