This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, Pets
Default 0x0175dcbb error
Hello!

I just bought my first expansion for the sims 3. Orginale sims 3 without the expansion works fine, but when i install seasons i get error messages. That really sucks since i really looked forward to playing seasons.. :-(

I have tried your "fix them yourself" pages. :-) I'm really not that good at messing around with computers, but i followed your steps. Reinstalled the game, deleting cache, removed the old entries in the regestry.. and so on...

Is there anyone that can try and help me step by step?

Since this is not a site problem or issue, you'll definitely find a more helpful answer by posting this in the appropriate forum: Sims 3 Game Help

Also, helpful tip.. you might want to translate the error message to English since this is an English speaking site.

Please be a bit more specific about what you did, and what happened at each step. I assume you didn't reinstall, then delete the cache, then delete registry entries, as that bears no relation to the help guides and would have left you with a very broken game .

hehe.. good point..

I reinstalled it, googled and found ur site. Deleted the cache. Still no good, so i reinstalled the whole thing.. again.. TS3 works fine, then i installed the season package, it runs an update from disc, and the whole thing screws up again. Tried downloading the latest patch, which it says is allready installed on the machine, but i tried letting in install over the update i had. Still de nada.. so i reinstalled the blasted thing, and started played sims 3 without the season expansion.

Then i installed the seasons again, same trouble.. went into the register as your site said, step by step. Removing the many extra sims register keys.. ( This time i let it install where it wanted to, C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.

Still the same problem.. Tried starting it from the sims folder, that's when i get the Could not start the game. Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb) message.
The other error message i get when i double click the sims icon on my desktop.

So you haven't removed your user files at any point? You should have done.

Please also post your system specs, just in case: Game Help:System Specswiki.

Well, comparing that to the system requirements page it doesn't look to me as though the problem is related to a computer that can't handle the game.

If you have done all the steps (in the right order) that are in the FAQ, you have done everything we can think of easily. And if your computer is handling other things then it isn't likely to be hardware related.

I don't suppose that your disc or computer needs cleaning?

Or possibly that the Seasons disc is defective?

Oh crud. I was afraid someone was gonna say that.. It handles bioshock, the sims 3 (usually..) the last remnant, and so on.. full whack i might add. i run everything i can on highest.
I have run the dvd through with a cleaning disc, so i reckon i need to take the game back to the shop.
Thanks for taking the time to answer. :-)
