Default Help!!! Package files don't work but .sims3pack does?
Hello I've been playing The Sims 3 on my mac on and off for a few years and never had a problem with my CC. I decided to open my Sims 3 again but then all of my CC are gone. everything vanished. I downloaded a bunch more CC's to replace my old ones and only the .sims3pack ones work. I tried putting the frame work again in the sims3 folder in My Documents as stated in the other threads and tested the .Nointro package so many times to no avail. Please Help. I'd really appreciate it...

Sims3Pack files are simply packaged packages that are dumped into DCCache and merge into one large package.

Have you cleared the regular cache files from the game?

Also, I recall this:
After the 5.0 update, the old nointro file no longer worked, and required a patch to get to work with the newer expansions.

Have you applied this patch? I don't believe the original creator did.

I already replaced my old patch to the one in the link you've provided but it still doesn't work. Could it be because of the Maxis intro? I'm sorry. I'm such a total noob but how do you clear the regular cache files? I deleted the other cache files as said in another forum but It still didn't work.

I'm sorry It's still there (( I already deleted all my cache files… The no intro thing isn't a priority to me… I just need my sliders to work… What do I do now?

If you are on a Mac, the path to the mods/packages folder should be - /Users/<username>/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/ . It appears from your screenshots that is where you placed it, so I'm not sure what the issue is. You have verified that the resource.cfg is properly named? You downloaded the framework - http://chii.modthesims.info/FrameworkSetup.zip? sims3packs are installed with the launcher and have nothing to do with package files, so having them work doesn't mean anything why your package files aren't working.

Yes I've done all of that. My resource.cfg came from the framework itself. I just need to be able to use some sliders( WHat else am I missing?

Have you tried new user files? Move your 'The Sims 3' folder inside 'Electronic Arts' onto the desktop or somewhere else, then start the game and it should make a new copy of all your user files for the game. Exit, then set up your framework like normal and then put some mods in Packages and see if it will pick them up.
