Got the Free Sims2 ultimate but can't increase the screen size, and the object smoothing is grayed out.
Looked at the help on graphics and changed all the "setb forceLowResolution true" to false but this has made no difference.
Anyone else come across this?

It worked in my game. Maybe you have to just start playing before those options will show up? I just had to go into the Options screen (I was in Town Mode when I did this, but not sure that that makes a difference) and I changed the resolution to the largest one (something like 1398x768 or some such thing). Works great now - wide screen and doesn't look pixelated at all.

Did you change the max resolution manually in the text config file yet?
