This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Can I put my lots in a new neighborhood with the lot files?
I will attempt to explain this. This is how it happened.

The other day, I couldn't open my game. I just got a box with a red circle that had a white X in it. So I panicked and did something stupid. I uninstalled an expansion pack (the disk that was in the computer). I reinstalled it, but my neighborhoods wouldn't show up. The files are all there, but no neighborhoods. I backed up all the files, uninstalled everything, reinstalled it, and put the old Sims 2 folder back. Same problem. I tried many things, looked at many forums with possible solutions, but nothing so far has worked.

I'm at the point where I just want to get some of the lots I built out of the quagmire and into a new neighborhood. Keeping in mind that I can't access any of the neighborhoods, can I somehow get the lots from the lots folder in the neighborhood and make them show up in a new neighborhood? I can't find any information that's satisfactory on this.

Try and delete the cache files and the "NeighborhoodManager" file in the Neighborhood folder. First delete the cache files and start up the game and see if it will work, if not then delete the "NeighborhoodManager" file.

Uninstalling your EP also uninstalled your hoods, families etc. If you want to uninstall you need to make a backup first. http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit..._Help:Uninstall

Quite often the game will refuse to start and normally it means your cache files need to be deleted. http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...ete_Cache_Files You only ever uninstall for a problem after you have tried every other option. Most problems with your game are not in your installation files but your game folder. Even with a problem in the installation files sometimes that can be fixed by using files off the disk. Unless something catastrophic happens you should only need to reinstall when you get a new computer.

There's this way http://thesims2.livejournal.com/6049797.html only you can't know which is which lot, now that you can't access the hood.

If you run the Clean Installer on the LotCatalog folder, it will show you pictures of each lot.
