What a clever April Fool's joke this is! Right? It's an April Fool's joke? Well if so give my best to the resident court Jester who came up with it. :D

Ahahaha nice one King Delphy! I knew those classes in translating medieval English texts would come in handy one day LOL.
Good thing it's not real Old English, but only something to look like Early Modern English or nobody would be able to understand a thing ....

I can barely understand modern English! Fortunately we're studying medieval literature at the moment at school...

Just a question, where ha you been, my beloved modern downloads? :/

This is totally hilarious ! All hail king Delphy for this most glorious idea !
The new site title is especially funny.
I went and took a look at the Create section, which is sometimes like real old English to me with all the tech speak, and, oh my god, I spent at least half an hour re-reading threads just to cackle like an old hag

Thank you delphy, and Happy April Fool to all !

(… Even if it goes on until the end of the medieval challenge )

Great! Hilarious!

Animals are visiting my profile! There were penguins and ponies - let's see if I'll get a complete zoo.

Oh my my this is most hilarious though I am afraid I will get sick of reading everything this way. For now it is quite refreshing. I am so addicted to this site and have been for years (though I am quiet as a mouse who's squeak has failed it) finally this took me out of hiding. You need to consider a pirate theme at some point with pirate translations. Perhaps near Talk like a Pirate Day. :P

Funny Idea,
but i think, its not so good, because here are many people from other countries (me too) and this old english is difficult to understand. so you may banish people...

All hysterical language aside, please do consider keeping this colour scheme beyond the *ahem* "2 week" period. It is nice and muted, and doesn't leave my eyes dazzled like all the other schemes.

(Hahaha...just found "missives"...nice. Seriously enjoying discovering which words are changed in what way.)

Diving into delerium yet again.

at first i thought this was really a quite funny idea... but after some time it just gets kinda annoying. i think its already difficult for native english speakers to understand this old english, but if you consider that there are so many people from other countries where english is not the first language, its really difficult for those to understand.
i learned english since nearly 10 years and even though i personally think i`m quite good at it, its still so hard for me to see through all this old english stuff...

please consider that there are so many people here who only have basic english knowledge.

This is like when I changed my Facebook to Pirate... funny for about a day, then I had to get rid of it. Sorry, I'm a fan of Mod the Sims but not of the "Ye Olde Site" version.

EDIT: Here's hoping this is only an April Fool's Day joke!

I agree with you. Besides, there are a lot of non-native speakers on the site. And for some even modern English is a problem. As for me, I am a linguist and I studied the history of English, but still it is a pain to read posts in old English straining my mind to understand it all. I am sure it is a pain even for native speakers. So optional old English layout of the site would be best.
