Yes, it's pretty weird. I mean Skysims, for example, has ALOT of detailed hairstyles. And like, half of them work, and the other half doesn't. Same with NewSea. There are also hairstyles that never cause trouble, like the ones from XMsims. Those textures don't look that great though. But if someone retextures them, and if you look at how detailed THEY look, you'd think my video card would go nuts on that too. But nope.
And indeed, the weirdest of it all is that it bugs out in the clothing section as well.
Let's just wait and see if anyone else has any ideas then ^^ I bet it can be solved... It must be! By the way, thanks for that link anyway though. Eventhough it is a bit more laggy (which isn't really a problem for a 8gb ram laptop) alot of textures especially in the neighborhoods look better

Yes, hopefully, in the meantime you might want to read these, just some stuff to be aware of because you seem to be using an integrated graphics chip

And if you want nice looking lower poly hairs I would recommend looking though Almighty Hat's hair dumps, she always list the polys of each hair.
You should probably try to only download ones that are under 10,000. ( which most of her's are)

Do the hairs show up in Clean Installer as hairs? I had an issue recently and while researching answers, I was directed back to looking at my items in Clean Installer. There were three hairs and a couple of clothes that showed up as type 'Unknown'. This usually only shows Unknown on hacks and default replacements and these items were neither. I tried to look at them in Wardrobe Wrangler but they wouldn't show up there. I ended up deleting them and it fixed my problem. I went back to the site where I got them, but all the comments were good and no one had reported any issues so I don't know what the deal was. I was thinking maybe they were sims 3 items that had been mislabeled, but that's just a theory. Anyway, just a thought.

basic definitions
integrated graphics chip (not that good for the sims 2 or 3)
http://techterms.com/definition/igp
Dedicated graphics card (good for sims 2 or 3)
http://techterms.com/definition/videocard

and if you want to get specific on which cards are best for the sims 2 you should see this

They did appear as meshes and hair colors, yes.
The program found 2 double files though. Sadly enough that doesn't affect the hairs... D:

Some of the newer graphic chips can run Sims 2 but often need graphic rules applied to it. There is a difference between the chips from 2004 and the chips from now.

Well in your DxDiag you posted under "Display Devices" it has Intel(R) HD Graphics Family and NVIDIA GeForce 820M which are both graphics chips and not cards.

Oh, I get it. (that part of computer knowledge doesn't go THAT far with me lol)
Well, no idea what is happening... But I am reinstalling alot of Skysims' hairstyles, and so far so good... No idea why... And if there are more that will bug out... Well, I'll just write them down and remove them. I guess I can live without them. Still no idea what causes the actual problem though.
