Default texture mapping problems
hello again...

i'm having major problems with texture mapping. i've been able to get a new mesh part to show up in bodyshop, but the texturing is wrong.

i believe i'm supposed to create a new material and assign it to the new part (which i can do), but when i try to use the texture coordinator to set up where it's picking the texture up from on the image, nothing shows up at all. i just get a plain grey screen, even if i press refresh, etc (and the new mesh part IS selected).

can someone help me out with this? i'd really love to start releasing hair meshes with new parts....

thanks!

If you are using MilkShape, in order to see a group in the Texture Co-Ordinator, you must first assign a texture to it.

Right-Click in the 3d Window and select "textured" to make sure it is assigned (if your group still shows no texture it is not assigned to a texture properly)

Then, you must go to the Groups tab, click the group's name, then click [Select]

Or else go to the Edit menu, and choose Select All.

Only selected groups will show in the Texture Co-Ordinator window.

would DirectX problems impact this at all? it might seem like a strange question, but i'm having major problems with it - it tells me that its not installed, but i can't seem to install it. very odd.

i think i'm doing everything you say properly...i guess i'll just have to keep messing around with it.

thank you for replying!

I had NIGHTMARE Probs. with DirectX for a month!!
(I am so stupid, sometimes).....I shut-off Anti Virus Program and it runs smooth as silk. If you are looking to Mod anything - remember to disable any Anti-Virus Programs while working!!

(There are a few Code Lines in DirectX that some Anti Virus programs will pick out as a possible threat.)

Did you fix the opacity settings of your mesh groups after importing it back into SimPE?
