I'm having trouble getting CAW to work, help!
Okay, so I've been wanting to make my own world for The sims 3, but I keep getting the same error message every time I try to launch CAW:

The Sims 3 Create A World Tool - Beta has crashed
Exception Information:
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

And, yes I have looked at the forums on how to solve this one and it didn't work. I tried LAA, and taking out my CC, but it didn't work. If this helps, I am running Windows 8.1, have a 64-bit OS, and have 4.00 GB of RAM. I don't know what could be causing the problem, or how to determine what it is, I just hope I can find out how to fix it because I really want to make a world. Thank you for your help!

If you patched to 1.69 it's not working with caw according to EA.

Is there a way to down-grade it? I really want to use CAW, but I haven't had the game very long and it was patched to 1.69 when I installed it!

Edit: My game was 1.67, but I just realized that it updated! I've been playing the sims 3 for a year and a half. I didn't think there would be any more updates now that the sims 4 is out.

Here's the explanation: http://simsvip.com/2015/11/12/sims-...mber-12th-2015/. I didn't realize I had Origin set for automatic updates. Our choices appear to be to try to manually go back to patch 1.67 or wait for EA to update CAW. If you choose to go back to an earlier patch, the only way I know of is to uninstall the game, re-install the game, and manually patch up to 1.67. (More information here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3...or/td-p/1357764.) Be sure to turn off automatic updates in Origin first. I'll probably wait for a while longer as I'm afraid rolling back to an earlier patch may cause problems. (Quite frustrating as I just had a few things to finish before releasing the world for testing.) Good luck!

I just realized that the sims 3 updated... and I gave it permission to update RIGHT before I found CAW lol. But it's ok I can wait, I'm patient. And thank you! I'd rather not risk screwing up the game by going back to an earlier patch, either.
