This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default appdata bursting
My computer is shared. There is no choice to this. A family computer now. Before it was just mine. Now I am to worry about space on my pc that I never had to worry about this before.

Look at what has happened:

I know to use cleanups and CCleaner. But I am noticing this AppData folder is full and full to bursting with TS2 stuffs. This is a folder that is temp but also so very warned against doing anything to. It was invisible but I set invis files to vis because I so not trust the microsoft. I will see for myself what they think they are doing.

Here is the direct path:
Owner > AppDate > Local > Temp

Here I have made a folder to my Desktop to place TS2 and other game files that I found in this AppData:
I named it AppData Prop Deletable - DO NOT zip See how it has come to 236GB???!!! That was all in my AppData!

If my game and computer continues to run without problem after this move I will delete this folder I have made on my Desktop. Has anyone else besides me found the excessive storing in AppData distressing? If so have you tried also to do anything?

That looks like some kind of game is run from appdata, Minecraft does this but it is small so I don't worry about it.

Also if I was you I would get these 3 free programs and run them on your computer.

Avast, best free antivirus program out there. https://www.avast.com/en-us/index
Malwarebytes (the free one.) https://www.malwarebytes.org/
Superantispyware The free one.) http://www.superantispyware.com/

Yes Minecraft is there but it takes little space. I have figured out the mystery that Microsoft would hide from us. They must think their college education to be protected and to keep themselves masters over us to hide such a simple thing. But I will reveal it. No money for college for me. And here is the secret:

AppData is actually System Restore.

To shrink the AppData to reasonable size one must run the CCleaner. In CCleaner is an option to delete old Restore Points.

Now, if I have the money someday I will buy the usb flash drive stick. I would need 32 or bigger to put my backups of ts2 I think. I will not try to add memory to a Dell they are evil to make you fail in this. Although I once was able to add a graphic card that is all the upgrading I could do. Stupid Dell.

You've got five hundred gb of hard drive almost used up. Are there old programs or backups you can get rid of? (My husband and I back up to each other's desktops. Once he was going to reinstall on his and moved the backup from my computer back to my computer for the reinstall, then copied it back to his after. So I had all my data doubled--on my computer. Double photos, taxes, everything!)

Another thing that would be helpful is not to share programs that other people won't use. If you are the only one who uses the Sims 2, set it up to be a you only program (this is somewhere in users, I think--I have some of this set on my kids' computers). This will save space because the files that go in 'my documents' won't exist in the rest of your family's 'my documents' folders, and that's a lot of data if you have several people sharing a computer.

I bought Scandisk Memory 32G for price of $17.41 (tax included) at Walmart. And put all my save backups of TS2 on this. Note you must be careful not to remove a memory stick from computer. First you must look at this little icon that on tray. Click on it with instructions how to shut the memory stick off before removing it. Is okay to just stick memory chip in PC but not okay to remove it with first talking to this little icon. It will wipe memory to just pull it out even if it is not in use.

After I put on Scandisk my TS2 backups then I run the CCleaner.

This got rid of all those AppData Shadowcopies. Now see what memory I have!

Good yes.

1: You don't need to Eject the USB Flash drive, it wont wipe it, the only way for files to disapaire off a flash drive is the internal battery to die!
2: Get Windows 7, Windows 7 will run faster than Vista
