Jawusa, no problems up to now - I have to test the empty downtown, but Bluewater Village seems very empty (and very strange!) and I do not see any problems. I will make more test Sims to buy some businesses (and try not to get attached to the damn pixels in the process )

Oh, and with previously-occupied lots, I also meant the previously-owned community lots. (Club Dante, J'Adore Bakery, etc.)
I forgot to mention that.

Good to hear that there weren't any problems, yet.

(I'm asking a followup question of @Jawusa based on a response she made to me in this other thread (posts #2029 and #2030). I figured it belonged better here, but sorry for any confusion if anyone saw the original post there and wondered where my question went!)

Here is one thing that I have been wondering. Once I have stripped the sim relationships, SimDNA, and so on from a downloaded lot in SimPE, when I go back into my throwaway hood (which I made just for stripping) and find the newly stripped lot, is it equivalent if I just put that now-cleaned lot straight into my Lots and Houses bin, instead of packaging it and installing the repackaged version?

Edited for clarity: I understand that repackaging keeps it extra safe, but otherwise, does it matter whether I bin a references-stripped lot for later placement or if I get it in that same bin by reinstalling it from a new package instead?

I guess you can also use the "Move lot to bin" option rather than the pack lot into Sims2Pack method. But I have not tested this out yet but it should actually do the same.

Also, some things like custom paintings, photo booth photos, crafted items, meals, etc. get broken if you remove sim references, so you may want to delete those objects before placing the lot into the neighborhood.

I just recently found this thread. I have used all the clean premade neighborhoods from meetme2theriver in the past with your clean and empty stealth hoods. I had been removing the characters from her neighborhoods but think your clean and empty neighborhoods would be perfect for me. I really appreciate you doing this for Pleasantview, the 3 universities, Downtown and the 3 holiday locations. I would guess that there would be interest in the remaining neighborhoods and would be happy to try to test things out. Thank you again.

I have tested almost every house and community lot and have not seen any problems with this last set of fixes.

I still have to do the same for the Seasons, FreeTime, Apartment Life and Stories neighborhoods, though.
And I also have to find a way of how to enable the story rewards in the Sims Stories series, so the empty neighborhoods have access to those rewards.

Thanks for testing them, Mark!

I may have found an issues for any and all clean and empty templates.

I started playing this "The "Earn Your Home" Challenge" using Jawusa empty and clean Pleasainview as the main hood with a reg. Uni hood and a reg. Downtown.
http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=409210
First game I have tried to play in over 6 months.

After my sim came back to the main hood and started working which created a driver sim I had her call her boyfriend from Uni to come over and he ask if he could bring over a friend and I said yes and the driver sim was who he picked and before I seen who it was the driver came over and started to talk to my sim and when I tried to start a convo with her I could not do anything with this sim for she was the driver sim and there is no action with this type of NPC that a playable sim can start. There was no other sim created other than the paper boy so far.
I had to use the teleporter cat to get rid of her.

I do not know if this has caused any corruption in this hood or not but NPC driver sims are on the list of do not touch sims. http://simswiki.info/wiki.php%3Ftit..._Regarding_NPCs

They're not considered as sims. Yes! But they are not universal! Each neighborhood has its own bus driver.
So there's no game corruption. It would be bad if you still tried to have a conversation. Using cheats to move her or make her selectable. But you didn't do this, so you should be fine!

I wouldn't use the option to bring over a friend. It's usually just a regular sim that can end up being a dangerous sim like the bus driver or the Social Worker.
Only use it if you know that the neighborhood has a large population.

You should put in a warning about this so others will know to either create townies or use the mailbox cheat to create 30 townies for there game using clean and empty templates.

Nothing can go wrong if you start with more and not just one family. So there's no need for townies.

Its when I do "Challenges" is when I use clean and empty templates with only 1 family to get started with.

Just popping at my mind, when only starting with one sim.. why use clean and EMPTY (!!!) templates at the first place?

The word "empty" should allready mean something, more so if all noregen-mods installed.

Would be different if you had already created bunch of townies , but what I read, the "friend", he brought along was simply something what templates and no-regen mods allowed, could of been the Grim Reaper himself.

I have this stupid issue also with the carpool NPC being something other then a carpool NPC. Behaving more like a pet with pet interactions because I probably didn't create stray animals for the pet slots. Why? Because strays are annoying. I created townies and a few downtownies. But no socialites, hobbyists, strays or garden club members. A carpool NPC behaving like a pet is weird and could possibly corrupt the neighborhood. I mean the NPC has stray pet interactions rather then what you find on other Sims. Yes I used an empty template.

I had already attach both a Downtown and a Uni hood that were just clean version and has all of there sims so I was thinking they would bring one of these sims over instead of the car pool driver.
My sim was made in the Uni hood CAS so it should not have been the car pool driver in my way of thinking.

So for now on I will as soon as my sim gets to the main hood create the 30 townies through the mailbox cheat so this wont happen again.

There'd be still a small possibility that a bus driver NPC would come in this way but of course, if there are 30 townies, the game would more likely choose one of the townies.
But possible is possible. Even if the possibility would be about 0.0001%

Learning from this. I am gonna have to recreate the neighborhood, I haven't really gotten too far on it. I believe you should create the townies and strays first, then safe NPC's next. Unsafe NPC's like the Carpools last so that those NPC's do not fill up empty slots.

I just downloaded the empty Pleasentview, saved sims I created via the move house to lot method. When I put the houses back into the "clean" neighborhood, the Maxis Families were still there (not sure if they're supposed to be) and within minutes of playing, a group of sims came to my lot. Two were Maxis Made, One was mine, but then a fourth sim arrived that was a townie... so, I'm confused.
