Do you mean extracting and cloning in Body Shop? http://pixel-trade.livejournal.com/16091.html

As for lot cleaning, I simply copy pasted what she said on a thread and removed the refrences in simpe. Once I opened the lot in SimPE it was pretty straight forward.

@joandsarah77 that looks like a better written tutorial.

I need the thread where it talks about how to clean lots, for the life of my I have not been able to find it.

This is what I have copy pasted into my Word document

Quote:
There's a way to remove the sim references from the lot. The game will behave it just like the other never ever occupied lots.
It's not that difficult. You have to open the lot.package in SimPE and remove these following things:
(If there are any of them)

-Sim Information
-Sim Relations (SREL)
- SimDNA
- Sim Wants and Fears (SWAF)
- SimScores
- FamilyTree

(basically everything with 'Sim') With just the base game, I don't think that there are any SimScores in lot packages...

I used AGS and a made a throw away hood and only had the lot I wanted to clean in there. I moved the game lots into a temporary folder so it was the only lot in the lot catalog folder. I did that as I could not figure out how else to tell which one my lot was. Once I opened it in SimPE it was fairly obvious what to remove.

It's quite easy.

Delete the things mentioned above by joandsarah77 and save the lot one more time. Then, the lot value should get fixed.

Thanks for this thread. I'm restarting a neighborhood and I want to make sure I do everything right! With the lots I've downloaded, I stuck them into one of the premade 'hoods and am cleaning them in SimPE that way. Then I'm going to rename the lots to "[Lot Name] Clean", stick them in the lot bin, then place them in my new 'hood. Is that the best way? Also, I'm a little concerned about these UNK (unlinked?) files I keep seeing. Do I need to delete those?

Hey- if you said something to me in a post and I didn't write back, I'm sorry. Sometimes I don't feel good enough to post and by the time I'm able to the thread's old enough that I feel kind of weird about bumping it just to post one or two sentences. So please don't take it personally! :)

To make sure it's entirely clean I'd use a temporary empty hood (with empty templates) but that should probably be ok.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

Thanks! What should I do about the unlinked files?
