Running UC on laptop w/ Nvidia card & Windows 10
Hi. I recently purchased a new laptop, an Acer Aspire E 15, and I'm trying to get the UC to run properly on it.
It has two graphics cards, an integrated chip on the motherboard (Intel, one would imagine), and an Nvidia GeForce 940MX. When I launch the game through the integrated chip, it runs, no errors whatsoever, except that the graphics look horrendous, and it's generally not a good idea to use an integrated chip with TS2, from what I've read. I've googled for days now, and I can't figure out how to get it to run properly on the Nvidia card. When I launch through the Nvidia card, it gives me the error along the lines of: direct3d returned an error: e_invalidarg!
Another key factor is that I have Windows 10 on this computer; I've read there's been some issues with it and UC playing nicely.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would be greatly appreciative.

Read this post http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...:Graphics_Cards and notice:
"Also, try deleting My documents/ EA Games/ The Sims2/ Config/ userprops.xml. This contains details about your previous graphics settings and will be refreshed by the game when you next run it"
BUT:
Deleting userProps.xml can cause all your Maxis made 'hoods to revert to their default fresh-out-of-the-box states -so:*backup*your Neighborhoods folder before deleting UserProps.xml so you can restore it if this happens.

This worked! Thank you so much!
The only issue that remained was my water in neighborhood view was still gross-looking, but I used this tutorial to fix that up.
