I have a simmular problem, but not with any accessories, but with a whole face. I thought since, it's almost the same, I'll post here (and I did a search but didn't find anything ...)

My (werewolf) sim(s) had a blue flashing face... The problem was sometimes it happened and sometimes not. And his face remained elevating no matter what... When he transorms to wolf the problem always seems to be fixed. Here are some pictures...

(Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this, but I did a search and couldn't find anything...)

To sum it all up - The Pets EP was pretty much bugs in a box.

I have a long nails mesh and re-color by ShadyLady482's (found it on this site). They are accessible through the glasses/accessory just like all the jewelry mentioned. These nails have never given me any problems - no blue flashes whatsoever. Jewelry changes to blue flashing thingys preceeding and following the sim intermittently - true for both male and female sim jewelry. Nails are only for female sims I think. I'm pretty sure some of my jewelry has Dr.Pixel's mesh, I know I have something from gameisland.ru, something from mercosims and parsimonious (not sure if they made their own meshes, but I think they did - bit hard to keep it straight if you have more than 2000 dl's). So far I haven't pinpointed jewelry that does NOT turn into flashing blue objects, but the nails NEVER do. The Sims in question, in fact the whole neighborhood were started AFTER Pets, and they wear BOTH the nails and one or more items of jewelry AT THE SAME TIME.

Oh, ps, how uncouth of me, forgot to say this: THANK you all, and especially Dr. Pixel for trying their damnest to fix this so fast. Will try the new Dr.Pixel mesh tomorrow, see if it helps for me. Yes, promise I will be a good girl and report what it did too.... BTW: kinda disappointed, I went to the Sims site three days ago to look for a patch for pets - Pets DID come out - oh - three months ago? Everything has a patch listed but Pets. Come on - a computer game without patch? Every game gets patched, because every game is buggy - to not post a patch suggests to me they really don't give a d... about the problems it's having. So at this point I'd like to take up the time and space to say a big, whole hearted THANK YOU!!!! to the community here - who respond so much faster to fixing what may even be a EA bug (yea I just read all the stuff about the EA made glasses and vampire teeth), who take action to fix problems much faster than the actual creators of the game, and who, truth be told, actually are the guys and gals who even make the game continue to be playable and interesting (be honest, woiuld ANYONE out here still play it, if there weren't all these cool and wonderful downloads that we get to grab and test out in our games day in, day out? can a "Family Fun Stuff" really compete with that?) Without you guys I know I would have long ago stopped playing the game.

Some of the things Maxis is trying to patch have been.... elusive, not all of them showed up on their test machines in a reproducable way. Note how we've not been able to sort this one out ourselves, even with a large community. The big pets patch is scheduled to come out sometime this month... they're not going to patch then patch again.... unfortunately they have a schedule and need to also be working on seasons.

I was having the same flashing problem with the Celtic necklaces that Aikea Guinea created. Aikea updated the Celtic necklaces texture/mesh and now the flashing is gone. It looks Rose and other creators are going to have to start from scratch and do their creations over again so they are fixed or just ask Aikea Guinea what that creator did to resolve the issue.

Don't know if this helps ....
With tracking down the problem. But I have that same issue. It is anyone of my downloaded objects. Not just by one person, or a certain type, that does this. Going to the mirror does fix it, and it only happens once in awhile.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra video card
I am running a AMD Athlon 2100+ 1.7GHz 1.00 GB RAM

Hope ya'll can find the problem.

So much bitchin' and moaning...there are so many creators out there making stuff for us to enjoy, and I really appreciate that, but to expect Maxis to go out there and check each and every item that has ever been created to make sure that they are compatible with each expansion is a little demanding and childish...just suck it up.

People whined and moaned and bitched for a pets EP, now they got it and all they do is cry about what isn't working. Maxis may be a company, but they are still PEOPLE, just like all of us, and IMPERFECT.

Give them a break. Stuff happens, and it's not like your gonna die just cause a few pieces of jewelry in a computer game flash blue. They did in my game too...I jut deleted them and figured that DR. Pixel and other's would create new ones if necessary that wouldn't conflict.

Nice rant, Gnostic Dreamer.... except that we don't yet know _why_ these things, which worked perfectly in every other ep, and which seem to randomly break or not (so it's not like we've found a lot of 'always broken items'). Maxis's own vampire teeth have been flashing blue in some games. Dr Pixel's necklace isn't blue in my game, it works fine. It happens when Maxis loads the house, take your sim to the mirror and _change nothing_ and suddenly the sim is fixed. While there might be something different somehow in some of the accessories made, the fact that the mirror can read them fine but the 'game' can't is well. BUGGY, and beyond 'our' control.

The programmers are humans, sure. But Maxis is being PAID to deliver a product. One that works. If this _erratic_ behavior had been the only issue, then the reaction would not have been so strong. You're not the one spending the time trying to fix things, easy for you to criticize the creators and not Maxis? Hmm. Guess we're inferior humans who don't deserve a break.
