Default .package files
Maybe it's just the name but I want to be sure that it won't cause any troubles.

I cleaned up my harddrive and during that I deinstalled all Sims games (TS1,TS2,TS3) and the Helper Monkey and reinstalled Sims2 only (with all EPs,SPs).
Now all .package files are shown as "Typ Sims3.Package". Until now they don't cause a problem in the game and I can open them with SimPE without any problem, too.
I've found the registry entry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT but don't want to mess with that.
If it's just a name, it may stay as long as it doesn't mess up my game and/or computer.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean "shown as" - that's the filetype name that Windows gives them?
If they still work ok, I wouldn't worry about it.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

Thank you for your answer.

Problem solved this minute with a registry cleaning program and rebooting the computer. Now .package files are called "PACKAGE-Datei" again (my computer speaks german, don't know how it's called in english).
