This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Pets, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default Cannot Find Graphicscard.sgr file (solved)
Hi Everyone, I was trying to follow this guide (http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...zed_by_the_game)
To get sims 3 to recognize my graphics card after moving my games to a new computer, But I cannot find the file called graphicscard.sgr anywhere!

I have gone into (c: )>Program Files (x86)> Electronic Arts but instead of The Sims 3 as everywhere says I should be seeing, I get The Sims 3 Into the Future. When entering that file instead and going through Game>Bin I do find GraphicsRules.sgr but GraphicsCard.sgr is missing!

My base game is a digital copy and I read in another forum (http://modthesims.info/t/490311) (unfinished 3 years ago) That I have to find it else where. But where am I supposed to look? I have searched for just the sims 3 in my files but no luck, there is nothing to check the properties on. After hours of looking for the answer I find myself here making a thread of my own.

I really want my game to run like it did before so please any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

ASUS Desktop PC M32BF_K30BF Series
AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.70 GHz
(RAM) 12.0 GB (11.2 GB usable)
64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor.

why don't you just use the search file function and type in "graphicsrules.sgr"

I had tried that before, but you recommending that caused me to look into the search option further and I found it! Thank you so much. now if only the tutorial actually helped my game ;-; (followed it to a tee and got the found: 1) Butttt my game hasn't changed in the slightest.

Post your device config, lemme take a look.

Sorry for the late reply I never saw it. But if you are still interested in helping me that would be wonderful.
I recently (today) Uninstalled all my games and reinstalled them, and went through the original Tutorial again.
But Once again it has not fixed my game graphics, everything is pixelly and unclear. (maybe I just have a bad graphics card? Because like the tutorial said some of the graphic options did move, but not the important ones like sims.)

Posing as Nitromon , not actually but he'll probably direct you to one of his other replies

Your Texture Memory (see bolded in the quote) is still on default settings (reason why on top of your file your GPU memory is on 1), which might explains why everything is low pixilated and unclear. Read his post in here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=573641 (postcount #2) and click on the link, follow his instructions how to alter the texture memory.

Good luck! ;-)

Posing as stevset...wait, this is getting confusing.

Could be mistaken but the Radeon HD 8670D is, I believe, an integrated version of the 8670 dedicated card. There might only be so far you can take the game's performance on that one but any AMD product line experts should feel free to correct me.

Yeah, you are correct and the review is not so much promising: http://www.pc-specs.com/gpu/AMD/APU...n_HD_8670D/1787

@Sabuilla:
For how to play on onboard/integrated cards, read this page: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...nboard_Graphics, but that integrated card is really not something you want having your Sims 3 game running on, even on in-game low Graphical settings.

As to the system requirements see this page: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...em_Requirements
