Default ''The application has crashed. The application will now terminate."
help please
I start the sims 2 and then the EA screen shows up, then the Maxis screen, then the Sims 2 loading screen, it gets all the way to the last bar 'decapitating....' and then says ''The application has crashed. The application will now terminate." Does anyone know why this is or how I can fix it?

FYI:

Your specs are incomplete because you haven't posted any information about your graphics. However, if you haven't done any upgrades then that would be the IGP 6100.. please confirm.

When did you install Vista? Because that technology far predates Vista.. You'd really help your computer out by putting XP back on it. It's really not meant for Vista.

Did the game ever work?
