Default Have you ever done or do you do weird/silly things while sleeping?
I sometimes do little things in my sleep like sometimes i act out my dreams while sleeping and move around a lot no matter what type of dream it is... and i might copy the actions i do in them lol, this morning i push my duvet off me because it's so warm today and i just put my sheet half on me, my duvet was just covering my feet, so i went back to sleep and woke up late as i do these days as i go to bed super late and get up late too as i have nothing to do right now so... i'm really bored so why not?. I woke up and found my duvet was straightened on top of me :\ lol i asked my mum if she went in and did it and she said no, i'm unsure if she's lieing to mess with me to make me think i'm crazy but if it was me, what the hell do i do in my sleep? what else do i do?, i really need to record myself on my PC and find some software to do it to record myself because if i'm known to act out the actions in my dreams could i possibly slightly sleep walk? lol. I have no recollection of straightening the duvet back on top of me, i'm pretty sure i didn't... but i'm so confused now :\. What do some of you do/have done in your sleep?.

Well I'm not really sure what I did in my sleep, but one time I woke up and I no longer had pants on. I can only assume I was having one hell of dream.

Haha or you just took them off randomly like i think... i straightened my duvet over me while i slept but i still don't know if it's my mum twisting my leg by saying she didn't do, lately i haven't been able to sleep without my duvet much as i'm not comfy without it, although i was too warm with it on and i probs will be tonight too, i'm going to test it again tonight and just put the duvet at the bottom of the bed and see what i do, maybe i found it that comfortable that my body felt i needed it because it's comfy lol who knows...

Oh, but if you were to ask if I've done weird or silly things while dreaming, that's a different matter.

Not quite asleep, instead I'm kind of in that not-really-awake-mostly-asleep-really-early-morning state, but (with embarrassing frequency) I will often get myself off to a bad start in the morning by "walking through a door" that's in my OTHER house, instead of whichever one I'm ACTUALLY in, and at that point I'll fully wake up, thanks to running smack into the very solid wall that's there instead... I'm lucky I haven't shown up to work with bruises some days...

Oh gosh I am crazy in my sleep! I'm not sure but I figure I must thrash around or something. I've woken up and both the bottom sheet and the mattress cover have been almost completely pulled off, and I've woken up with my covers tangled or thrown off the bed entirely. But one time I had a hanging lamp above my bed and I woke up with it crashed to the floor and the cord twisted around me! I have NO idea how that happened. I also grind my teeth in my sleep a lot and wake up with headaches.

When I was younger, most mornings I would wake up with my entire duvet lying on the floor (and when I was really young I had a bedstaff that supposedly was there to keep me from falling out, but that didn't help on the problem with the duvet...). I don't do that any more, though. I also had this weird knack of falling asleep on the bathroom floor when I was younger.

I've also been so vividly into a dream that I wake myself up calling someone's name or yelling something out loud.

And a couple of times I've woken up unable to move. It's kinda creepy, but at least I didn't panic. I just kept my calm until I could move again a few minutes later (actually knowing there's something called sleep paralysis at the time it happened helped a lot on the no panic bit).

At times I have this sleep-wake up-sleep-wake up cycle where the same dream actually continues. Mostly I don't remember dreams, though.

I'm not a sleepwalker, but my brother (supposedly - I only have mom's account on this one) once woke up knocking on our neighbor's door.

I like to text people, smoke and eat in my sleep. I also like to have random conversations with people around me.

My husband tells me I yell a lot. I woke him up a few nights ago telling him if I didn't get more peanut butter, I would stick the one I had in the oven :/ I also toss and turn a lot, which results in no one having blankets, pillows, or bed space.

One time when I was like in second grade, I was sleeping at a cabin for Girl Scouts. They told me the next day I had said extra sharp cheddar cheese. Cause yeah, I love cheese xD. My mom had told me she thinks it wasn't true, but idk, it is probably something I would say...

I am not too crazy in my sleep. Now and then I wake up without my bed spread, but that is mostly just because it's a slippery material. But speaking of sleeping, I have such exact sleeping arrangements. Like, my room is so dark I face my alarm clock down xD. Yeah...

I only remember doing things in my sleep when I was on Ambien for a while. I was an Ambien Zombie (you can actually look that up). Other than that I have Sleep Apnea. I found out a few years ago because after a head surgery I was snoring and would break off and stop breathing. The doctors and nurses noticed because my monitors would start shrieking apparently. Other signs besides snoring were waking and feeling tired an hour later or waking with your bed sheets a mess because your body kicks or jerks to jump start your breathing automatically when it stops.

I went to a sleep specialist and he did a sleep study and was amazed that I kicked to jump start my breathing over 500 times a night. I'm not sure if it is related but sometimes I will wake up and see someone standing over my bed and think it's family and will start a conversation only to realize no one is there. I also sit up sometimes on the edge of my bed feeling there is something important I need to do, but I think I'm still sleeping and eventually just fall back over and go back to sleep.

I usually do not talk, but housemates testify I said "That's excellent. I would venture to say, we won't need to call the pediatrician after all" in a clear, normal voice. That's not how I talk, and there are no young kids in the house. I'd been asleep maybe an hour and was probably pretty deep down.

I hope Nymphetamine's peanut butter came out OK. I have only ever cooked it on the stovetop.

I still manage to wake up at the end of the bed sometimes. Feet on the pillow, head on the mattress, blanket on the ground.

LadyHawk and Simmer22,
It sounds like you both suffer sleep paralasis.

Sleep paralysis happens if the conscious parts of the brain starts waking up before the parts that controls voluntary motion wakes up. Sometimes reality and dreams can cross when in that state, and combined with a very vivid mind, some people might even think they're being abducted by aliens, or they might see people or angels or whatever else they might dream up.

I'd not say I 'suffer' from it, though, as it has only happened twice (that I can remember), and I was aware of what was actually happening (so no aliens for me :P). Was a little bit scary, but it didn't last very long each time, and it's been a couple of years since the last time it happened. I was in a period of very varying (and probably unhealthy) sleep habits, which might have something to do with it.

I sleep in my own room, so don't know if I do anything. Probably I don't do anything "cute; waking up with a dry mouth means I've been sleeping with my mouth open, a wet pillow means I've been drooling. I've woken myself up trying to put my head inside the pillow case. I often wake up nude, and I don't get night sweats so I don't know why I'm undressing. I kept complaining about being tired, and after YEARS my doctor ordered a sleep study. Severe sleep apnea; they said I rarely go into REM sleep, I stop breathing and wake up every 2 minutes. So now I'm on a pressure machine. It might go away if I loose enough weight, but they say even slender people can get it; Japanese people get it a lot. It actually can cause death. I wonder how many people have it and don't know. Even if they sleep with someone, their partner may just think they snore!

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..

If I sleep on my back I almost always wake up too early, often with back pains, and my throat tends to sort of tighten, so it feels as if I can't breathe properly. Doesn't happen if I find a comfy position on my side or belly, though. I gave up sleeping on my back when I was a kid.

There was one time I woke up to find my pillow on the other side of the room. There was a dead spider on it.

I'm not sure what the least disturbing scenario is: I sleepwalked while carrying my pillow around and smashed it, I threw it across the room in my sleep and it killed the spider, or I found it in my bed and threw the pillow to get rid of it.

I can't sleep if I can see a spider in the room, or if I know there is one (like if it runs away before I can catch it).

So imagine all the 'fun' I had that summer when my bedroom was invaded by tiny little spiders about the size of this: *
I probably spent half an hour every evening getting rid of them all.

Or this summer, when all the spiders are tree times bigger than they usually are (around size 2 on Phil Jupitus' scale), and run a helluvalot faster. I've never even seen those kinds of spiders before, so I've got absolutely no idea where they're even coming from! At least they don't come in packs, like the tiny ones do...

I used to sleepwalk when I was very little, but not anymore.
The creepy one in the house is my brother: eyes wide open, laid flat on his back.

I must have bitten my lip in my sleep. It bled a quarter sized puddle of blood and drool. I woke up and saw the pillow and assumed it was mouth cancer, because of course it must be and can be nothing else!
