Default Do you know this sim?
If you do not play University, please skip this thread.

She has been in every Secret Society I have ever played. In my present game she is called Edith, and she was causing trouble for the other members. She had given her First Kiss to that blonde student with the lop-sided haircut, but he specialises in First Kisses - I have seen him hand out at least ten in my present game. Somehow that kiss meant a lot more to Edith than it did to - let's call him Leonid. When he moved on to his next, she became enraged, and started a fight, first with Leonid, then with his next lover. Soon it grew tedious, with dust clouds in every room. My playable sim, Glorfindel Lorien, could hardly get any socialising done for the racket. At last, bored with all the fights, I pointed out to her the slice of iced layer cake that dangled on the tongue of the cowplant. Then for a while there was a stunned silence, but nobody wept, and soon the slap-dancing started up again. Feeling a little guilty, I directed Glorfindel to phone the Grim Reaper, and soon I had an extra life to nurture.

She came back to the dorm and claimed her room. I sent her to the hacked clothes peg to select her everyday wear, and noted that the Secret Society uniform of blazer and dark red trousers was not available. I assumed this meant she was no longer a member, for indeed she did not have three society members as friends. Well, I was wrong, because that night the limousine came for Glorfindel's sister, Luthien, though she had only two SS friends. So, the next night I send Edith back to the Landgraab Society to apologise to those she had bounced. Though she was still a member, Edith never again wore the uniform.

Now I wonder whether the experience of passing through some part of a cowplant skewed this sim's development. She graduated, but took no particular pleasure in that, received no aspiration points and had no wish for a graduation party. I let her be, and concentrated on my other sims. The seventy-two hours' grace passed by, and yet Edith did not leave. There was no hats-in-the-air photograph, and no taxi arrived to return her to Pleasantview. She still wanders the dorm, playing music, dancing, swimming, eating, sleeping - everything except leaving.

Has this happened to anyone else? I suppose sometime I must tell her to make that phone call, and find her a home in Pleasantview; but in the meantime she's no trouble. Is this a corrupt sim, I wonder, or just a really relaxed one?

She might be just a dormie - they are made to a template so you do get the same appearance time and time again.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

Secret Society members who are made playable lose the jacket but keep all other benefits of membership.

Sometimes something glitches and a playable has to pick up the phone to move out even after the grace period/graduation party is over. If you look in her age panel she'll be shown as "leaving campus" even though she's still hanging around.

Not every sim gets excited about graduating or wants to throw a party. All this sounds perfectly normal to me. And you see the same dormies over and over if you play the premade colleges.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

She is Carla Benson in my game, and she is Secret Society as well. She's on my list of dormies to make playable at some point, as she is fun, has a lot of friends, and has bronze floral and silver robotics badges.

My guess is that there was, as Peni suggested, a glitch with your Edith. I, too, had a Secret Society member who grabbed the cake, got resurrected, and wound up in a dorm. But he kept his Secret Society outfit, was able to visit the Landgraab Society whenever he wished, graduated, and was told he had to move out at the proper time. He's now a lawyer. A zombie lawyer.

The first three pictures in this search show all three SS groups in their default attire.

The girl shown in the top post, is *not* one of them, although she does indeed always show up in my Sim State University. It is, however, entirely possible, that as soon as one of the initial SS members is taken out of the dormie pool (for example by moving in with an adult playable), one of the other dormies takes their place. In which case the girl from the top post can indeed be one of them.

I believe the physical models for not only the SS members, but in fact the entire initial group of dormies are fixed for each College 'hood. They only get new names every time.

I am thinking of a new plot. Edith does not have to leave university: she can be my first perpetual student, my first immortal sim who will never become fully adult. She is a family sim, which is sad for her, rather like deciding to take the veil. She has knowledge for secondary aspiration, and keeps rolling wishes to learn odd things: study physiology, learn couples counselling, study fire management. I am helping her achieve all these; in fact I used the simblender to change her LTW from 'Reach Golden Anniversary' to the only ambition open to perpetual students: 'Max out 7 skills'. I predict she will have a long and successful life.

So she will have a long life - and one day she will have maxed out her skills, and still be young enough to get married and have kids - best of both worlds
