This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons
Default IN_PAGE_ERROR causing game to crash before getting to the menu screen after loading
I recently tried to install some new package files into my game (I deleted any other cc I used to have when I had different issues a while back) set up but the game crashed after getting past the initial seasons loading screen. I then deleted the packages and cleared the cache, and restarted the game. The same crash at the same time happened again. I always back up the whole EA documents folder before I do anything, so I then tried to restore my last back up before undertaking the cc install, and the error persisted.

I thought it was the cc but when I checked the log files (see below) they all said the same error/cause: IN_PAGE_ERROR . I've googled but I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. I have also included my computer specifications below as well in case that might help. Before all this the game itself was running well and there seemed to be no issue. I'm not sure if this is related to the packages I installed or there is something wrong with the hard drive we play the game on, but I have no idea what to do and the fixes I''ve tried (the above and restarting the comp.)

Hmm.. this is a bit hard to track without looking directly what you have there..

For hardware possibility failure: You have more than enough free space for paging files in your hard drives, but you have a lot devices attached to your PC, what power supply unit are you using? You need at least 600W PSU for your PC with that spec, there could be lack of power to your hard drive (or other hardware) when running the game, if this is the cause, this could damage your hard drive and/or your other hardware as well.

For quick fix to go around the trouble:

1. Try moving your TS3 Documents folder to desktop or somewhere else, then start the game, if you managed to go to TS3 main menu, exit the game, copy your DeviceConfig and Option.ini from your TS3 Docs folder that you moved to desktop (or somewhere) to the new TS3 Docs folder TS3 has regenerated, then start the game again. If it works.. then just put your CC and mods back one by one or group by group.. so you'll know what causing the problem.

2. If that doesn't work, you may need to try with new clean installation for your TS3, I see you have spare hard drive, why not try new clean installation for your TS3 and your Windows OS as well, just use one hard drive and let's see how is your PC running after that, if it's fixed the trouble.. then it could be either the other hard drive have problem or it's because of lacking power to run all of your hardware at the same time..

Thank you for the advice :lovestruc
We don't have a 600W PSU for our PC, and I've tried both the other steps so that's probably what's causing all the issues. At least we now have an idea what to fix!
