I LOVE Unsavory Charlatan- I only have the base game but when ppl post pics of their sim bringing him home from work I lol.

That one bugs me too - at least spell it the traditional way EA! (StJohn for those who don't know)

There's a male townie in Belladona Cove called Christian Love, I think he's a romance sim.

I think Meadow Thayer and Goopy Gilscarbo are probably the weirdest names I've come across... just shows I'm not very adventurous with where my sims go.

My name is Jessica, but I answer to Jessie, Jess, Candiiee, Candy and Cand. :P

Wow now what career is he in? Criminal? Most likely, I don't have any criminal sims because back when I first got the game I was afraid that it would increase the crime rate in my neighborhood. And then when I found out it didn't most of my sims already had jobs.

As far as I know, he isn't a townie, he's an NPC. I thought he only turned up on community lots (never had anyone bring him home before... Glitch maybe? Or cool mod?) - he tells you a story & tries to nick your money. Apparently if you have a high enough body skill you can kick his ass and get your money back. He's never tried it on any of my sims, but I've seen him do it to random townies a lot.
Who knows where thoughts come from....? They just appear.

I had that! Walking around town one day I found the name of my best friends boyfriend, and he even had the right hair and eye colour, though not skin tone.

I played the pre-made Kim family once, and when they had a baby daughter, I named her Little. My daughter said "Mom, you are SO LAME!"

I like the NPC Sims names mostly--except they get a bit repetitive sometimes. I do love the name Dongsgool.

In regards to the theory that EA used staff's names for townies: I think it's true. I was watching an interview with one of the programmers (I think that's who it was... I don't remember where I watched it); her name was like Rose Leelaporn or something like that - I remember screaming,

"YOU'RE A TOWNIE!"

Leelaporn. I seriously pity anybody with that name IRL.

It's not a theory, it's true. Check out the credits panel (near the video/sound controls), you'll find almost all of the weird townie names.

Yeah there is a Kampol Leelaporn working at EA (who is a guy btw). I also have a Kampol in my hood...

A girl at my workplace is named Donnaporn. First name, not last
Maybe I should make a sim...

The only weird names in my game are made up by me. Day Butterscotch (or Butterscotch Day as I call her) and Avery McBlue are my favourite.
