Remember me from a few pages back? Well it turns out I'm a complete moron and there was a check-box in the display settings called "Enable Advanced Rendering". Once unchecked, no more graphics related crashes!

Now I am getting corrupt save crashes. The wierd part is, the save game DOES load. It plays for a good fifteen rl minutes also, before it crashes. So I make a new game, taking the family with me (I spent forever redecorating their house, so I wasn't about to delete it) and it crashed the same way again. I am a bit computer saavy myself (I work in my school's IT department for 5th period, making my aforementioned moment of stupidity even more embarrassing), so I know I didn't do anything outside of the game to corrupt the save.

Here's the most recent log (used copy to clipboard this time ):

I apologize immensely for taking up so much of your time and thank you for helping me through my numerous crashed. I now have had the sims 3 pets crash on me more than every other game I play combined (and I play a lot of different games)

I'm gonna pull my mods and try Twallan's Error trap, let you know what happens.

On the other hand I wonder if it could be a driver that needs to be updated that previously was before the reinstall.

I hadn't been to France since installing Pets and this is just clicking on France from edit town in the top corner. I wasn't there for a vacation. I have been to China for a vacation and got no crashing. I guess France must be more intense than China or any main hood. Weird right?

So it crashes everytime you travel to France? The world save might be corrupt. In which case, it's best just not to go to France, unfortunately, unless you want to start over.

The game is running out of memory. It looks like you'll have to install more and use the 3GB switch. Alternatively, you could get a new computer with a 64-bit OS and at least 4 GiB of RAM.

I'd definitely try custom content first. Custom content can corrupt saves.

The error trap came up clean. Definitely custom content. Anyway to tell what is at address 0x00000030? That could help me narrow down which mod is causing the crash.

0x30 just tells me that something is wrong with the save. There's no way to tell from the crash logs TS3 printed, what specifically caused the crash.

The only thing I see that could be a sticking point is the memory but the game claims to have enough--at least at the point it crashed. Have you had any random restarts, graphical glitches, or anything of the sort? If you have any anti-virus programs, you could try disabling them.

Hi!
No I haven't had any sort of trouble- however, I did recently get a new anti-virus around the time of running into this problem. I'll try disabling it.
Thank you

Have you tried moving your My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 folder somewhere else and letting it rebuild that directory? If that doesn't work, I'm all out of ideas. All I know is that all your crashes are caused by the same thing. Fix one and you'll have fixed them all.

Yeah, I've done that
Thanks for trying! I know my computer is all up to date and everything- so there shouldn't be any problem. I think I might call tech support.

It's probably something that effects sims directly then (slider mods are especially problematical). There is no easy way to narrow it down.

In case anyone has the same problem as I do, here is the solution.

1. Download Twallan's Nraas Master Controller here (Unfortunately, you now need an account, but it's free so no worries )

2. Start the game, and load the save you were playing when the game crashed.

3. Click on City Hall (just the building, not the city hall sub menu on the neighborhoods that have police, military, and city hall all in one)

4. Click on Nraas and then Master Controller

5. Click on Town --> Reset everything

6. Click the check mark when promoted

This worked for me and I have been playing for an hour already with no crash!

Edit: Seems I may have spoke to soon. Game just crashed again giving the same reason

It could be anything. You could try running it without any to see if the mods are even to blame.

I have thought about that but it can go for weeks with no crashes and then crash once then go for weeks more before it crashes again. i tried playing with no mods once after a new EP now i wait to install it until the mods get updated. What i might do is play and try to make a crash if i can fine out when it will be easier to check the mods.
thanks again for the help.

I found that the new ingame advertisement is the culprid for this. The game tries to add pictures to a new folder called featuredItems and crashes either at the very beginning or when those pictures (not all of them) are displayed in buy mode.

My Sims 3 is unplayable. I keep getting AppCrashes every 5-10 minutes. According to the app it's a corrupt save crash, were it not that it happens on new games as well (even a new Windows). I've already removed all custom content besides Awesomemod.

Can anyone help me? I just spent two hours making a wonderful lot (Chinese garden) for one of my 'hoods and lost all my hard work when the game randomly crashed as I tried to exit from "Edit Town" mode to where I could save my progress (Thanks, EA Idiots for designing a game that saves like an original NES game... in other words, never when it's most convenient for the player!)
