whenever i want to play in a custom world, if there are bridges, they don't seem to show up. not the big city type bridges; i mean the little green riverview type bridges. i've tried, over the course of several months now, to play in several different custom worlds but can't because the bridges won't load. i don't want to have stranded sims! i can play riverview or any other town with bridges just fine, just not custom ones. other than that, my game seems to be running fine.

I doubt that has anything to do with your system. Rather points to what EPs you have installed. I have experienced that with bridges in custom worlds and the cause of that was the world builder used a bridge from an EP I did not have installed. Before I installed SN I played Enekjaer for some time without the bridge. I installed subways in that world and that kept my sims from being stranded.

i didn't think the bridge issue was something with my system. but this is the sims, and you never really know.

i'm currently running Sims 3, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, and University Life. oh and the town life stuff pack. i didn't use and didn't really need much else.

You are very welcome. I watched my sims driving into the rocks and lake for quite awhile until I thought about those subways.
There are some good tips here that encourage sims to take the subway more often: Tips For Subway
I also use claudiasharon's Slower or Faster Subway Mod. Might take a few sim days for them to catch on. Another advantage is there are less cars and taxis being used.

On a side note I use a lot of subways in the worlds I play and with claudiasharon's mod in it's amazing how fast Sims do travel from point A to B. Takes a little bit of trial and error though. I had the Schools and Business places where sims work and only one subway for that area. Rush hour and congestion was pretty much the same in my world as it is in RL except where I live raccoons and strays are not getting in line to enter the subway.

I just laughed so hard that I can't breathe!! I needed that good of a laugh today, too. I can just see them -- vroom vroom - sploot! LMAO
