This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default gaming pc/did all i could - crash still happening, any advice
Ill try and make this as short and decrease my level of emotions(sadness) as much as possible.

My Sims 2 Ultimate is crashing. I can not play it in full screen mode only window mode[when i tried the screen had blue vertical lines running across). So I am stuck in Windows Mode. When I tried with graphics rule maker the game would not let me stay on beyond 30min. So I removed it so now i get about 1hr-1.5hr of game play (Yay). When I am trying to place lots in the Downtown it wont let me stay on beyond 15min. I bought a brand new gaming pc just so I wouldnt have problems with the Sims 2. I am having problems. Anything anyone could do to help me have a better gameplay experience, I would appreciate it very much. I do have a lot of downloads but I don't think this is interfering. I would just like the game to play faster and not crash. Sorry if I have not placed enough information. Anything needed I will provide. I just don't know what to do from here. Any ideas?

And here are just a few of the things I have tried:
-hood checker
-graphics rule maker
-setting the affinity to cpu 0 only
-reinstall game
-test out custom content

-Also I have a quad core and here are some info about my pc.
i have 8gbRAM, AMD Athlon(tm) X4 760K QuadCore Processor and I am using a SamsungTV via HDMI for my monitor.

Have you made it large address aware? The game will only use 2GB of memory unless you do this.
Does it work with a different monitor (not a TV)?

It sounds like your computer is overheating and you may need to clean it out.
It may also have done damage to your video card from overheating for Sims 2 is a very demanding video game.

This is the reason why I say either your computer is overheating or your video card is about to go out on you.

It may be just dirty inside and the cooling fans can not keep up because of the dust inside your computer or you have done damage to your video card over time playing Sims 2 for it is one of the hardest game for video cards.

I tend to think video card - maybe it is time for a new one. You could check your power supply - I had months of problems once before anybody realised that the problem was only a overworked power supply. Sadly, by then, one so-called expert had wiped my pc clean and reloaded it about 20 times - to no avail. I also, on expert advice, bought a new graphics card - just to find out later that the original one was still fine. So I always advise everyone to check the power supply
