This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default Isle of the midnight sun won't let me put my sims in base game version
Instead I get this message:
There is an empty lot already in the world.
What's the deal? :x
It also happens with only 1 sim.

Click on the 3 dots in your left corner and choose "Edit world"
You will need to place some lots (just the sized) in order for your family to move in somewhere. It looks like a custom island you got there, so you will probably need to edit world and place a lot for them to live
