This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
game keeps crashing in CAS (tried everything)
Ok, let me start off by saying i have ran the sims 3 before on my computer.
it has worked, it's never crashed before until recently
i have every expansion pack and all the stuff packs. and some store items
the game goes into create a household, and then crashes, edit: it crashes when i click on the clothing, sometimes i can select pants or a shirt but when it all loads up, it crashes. 80% of the time when i click on t-shirts/tops.
i've looked online for solutions and have found nothing.
things i've done:
restarted my computer
ran/i run the game in admin mode
i've run the game under windows xp service pack 2 via compatibility settings.
turned off my internet
run the game at the lowest settings possible
im at my wits end.
the game is fully updated/has the latest patch
i can run games like fallout NV, oblivion, sims 2. DOTA, league, ship simulator extremes (a very demanding game),train sim 2013, total war shogun 2, all to the max graphical settings, so my point being it can't be my graphics card.
the only anomaly i have except for that was that one time, under some strange circumstances , the user interface turned black, like it functioned but the whole interface turned black until i restarted the application, it hasn't done it since then.
am i missing files? i mean i'll do a reinstall if i must.
i have NO CC/mods
if you want more detail here's the latest crash report:
also i apolgize in advance if this has already been adressed. i just want to play my game :'(
so please, help in any way you can.
here's the really long report. i hope you can help me:

I believe your problem lies in this snippet I pulled out of the text dump:
Quote:
Memory load: 94%
Total physical memory: 2046 Mb
Available physical memory: 120 Mb

TS3, especially with several EPs, SPs, and Store content (which, BTW, is like custom content, just obtained from EA instead of carefully crafted by a content creator who gives a shit about making sure their stuff isn't bug ridden), requires more memory than the "base game requirements" of 1.5 GB. Your CTDs are because you exceed the memory footprint available to the game. The ability to play other games is not indicative of sufficient memory resources to run TS3.

You can download the Crash Log Analyzer from this site, and run it on your Documents/EA folder, and I believe it will tell you that is the problem as well.

As as start, buy more RAM. Or, pull out all the EPs, SPs, and Store stuff and see if it resolves with just the base game. And then, if you want to add the stuff back, add more RAM.

i didn't think that store content was considered CC, but it's stuff from the official EA store, not user-created content.

and ok here:
windows vista home premium/service pack 2
system: intel pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz 3.00 GHz
memory: 2.00 GBs
system: 32 bit

like i've said, i've ran the sims 3 before with no problem. it's just until recently.
, the specs i posted are the system itself when it was shipped. so yeah.

I agree with eskie227 so won't repeat advice already offered.
I would suggest you try several of the suggestions detailed in Better Game Performance Tips . Even though up until recently you have been able to play it appears you have pushed your system to its limits and need to do some serious clean up. I noticed you mentioned you do not use any mods. I strongly suggest you consider using the mods suggested in the link provided below; especially Error Trap and Overwatch. They will clean out your bloated game files almost completely after a few game starts.
In addition, note that within that document in the "Can Your System Handle Everything You Are Throwing At It" section (last column at bottom) is a link to Desktop Graphics Card Compatibility and Recommendations for graphics/video and what EP's/SP's can be played on your system. This might be something else to consider if the other suggestions within the Performance Document do not bring relief.

i've upgraded my ram to 4, the specs i posted are the system itself when it was shipped. so yeah.

The crash dump you posted in your opening thread was generated by a crash. At the time of the crash, the report shows only 2 GB of RAM, virtually every last byte of which was in use, hence the instability. When did you raise your RAM to 4?

According to the crash dump date/time stamp, this just occurred today:
Quote:
date: 2014-08-02
time: 13.53.54
type: ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address 0x00000000

So did you just upgrade to 4 GB this afternoon, and if you did, are things more stable?

i upgraded to 3 GBs (go on laugh) and im no longer getting that msg im getting a different one. so im assuming im good on ram for now.
now im getting something that says "large address aware/UserVA-increase UserVA-2560"
edit: i never said i had 4 GBs i wish i did though. that'd be great,
ok what i did was i tried multiple solutions to solve this, it's due to TOO much ram this time instead of too little.
i tried the following stuff:
the 4GB patch, did not work
the large address aware app. again did not work.
the only thing i didn't try is the explorer CTFF but it's too confusing.
so if anybody could address me on this and how to approach it and what im doing wrong,
(i followed the instructios and i set the path right, so it went to TS3W application, (which is what i use, well the shortcut). but it didn't work. nothing changed. i still got the error.
i'll be checking the thread in hopes in that somebody can help me.

i fixed it, the game works fine with 3 GBs of ram, but it crashes after an hour due to running out of memory -.-
i swear if the sims 4 is like this, im never buying another EA product again.
this is why i adore and love the sims 2.
