Default Try This First!
If you are having any problems with the Clean Installer, try uninstalling it, removing any stray Clean Installer registry keys and then reinstalling.

First, backup your registry!

Then, remove the following keys if they are there:

Quote:
My Computer\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Sims2PackCleanInstaller

My Computer\ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ APPLICATIONS\ Sims2PackCleanInstaller.exe

My Computer\ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ Sims2PackCleanInstaller

The process for removing the registry keys are as in this tutorial- just remove the keys I indicated above instead of the Sims2 Keys!

When you have removed all of the keys, then reinstall the latest version of the Clean Installer.

Chiwaluv had some success with reinstalling the dotnet framework and running Microsoft updates. This may help some people who are having issues with the Clean Installer not running.

The Clean Installer uses dotnet framework version 1.1- you may need to manually remove corrupted files if a simple reinstallation doesn't work. First uninstall the dotnet framework though add/ remove programs. Then go to %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.xxxx and delete all remaining files in that folder. Reinstall the dotnet 1.1 framework.
