Default Custom Hair Binning
I have remade every Maxis hair in blue. I want to go through it all again and add a purple, and another colour and so on...
But I don't want purple hair mixing with blue hair in the custom tab.
Is there a way to make a new bin hair colour and then use it?
I'm imagining something like:
00000001-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Black
00000002-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Brown
00000003-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Blond
00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Red
00000005-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Grey
00000007-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Blue
00000008-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - Purple

There would be waaaaayy too much hair in the custom bin if I did all the Maxis hair x2 or more.
Is it possible for me to do with no coding ability?
If not, is it possible for someone with good coding ability?

I've been searching for 3 days now and I can only find people talking about the 4 standard colours.

I don't think that's possible.

What I have seen creators do is throw custom colours into the existing bins. Like blue could go in the black bin, green in the blond bin, pink in the red bin, etc. Then they wouldn't ALL be in the custom bin.

Hmm
That's a shame.

What if an actual modder did something?
I have no doubt someone who can recolour can also mod, but from my experience artistic people generally aren't good coders.
So what if the only reason it's not possible is because artist can't do it, and modders don't care?

It's probably just beyond most modders' abilities. For one thing, you'd have to change the GUI in Body Shop and CAS. You'd also have to account for genetics, since adding colour bins would make those colours genetic like the main four (otherwise, what would be the point?), and then you'd have babies being born with blue hair, which might work in specific circumstances, but probably wouldn't have wide appeal. It would be a ton of work, and because so few people would want such a mod, most modders who might be able to do it (if it's even possible) have decided it's not really worth it.

Also keep in mind that The Sims 2 has been out for years and not as many people are creating for it now. If such a mod were possible, it probably would've been tried years ago. The fact that it doesn't exist means that it's probably not feasible.
