I could have sworn there was a topic on creating own townies/downtownies..but I can't find it anywhere on here..

Not sure where to place this post either..

I have a lot of sims that someone has created and omgosh they are amazing and so real like..that I want to use most of them as townies/downtownies..I can't stand the ugly ones that EA as created lol..and I would like to use them for my own sims..for marriage..

So how do you go about taking sims and making them townies/downtownies..

Do you perhaps have the cat statue from Simlogical?

Some options are..Make me a Townie..Make me a Downtownie...
So just move 8 of these sims on a lot, then one by one have them click on the cat and choose which one you want. repeat until all the sims you want turn into townies are..townies.

Rosebine gave you the trick for making townies.
To make non-ugly townies, you might want to consider a few default face templates. They are default faces to replace the Maxis versions. I have a mix of faces from several different creators.

Some creators have more subtle changes than others. Here are links to some that I use. If I remember correctly, they only affect future Sims, not the townies and CAS Sims already in your game.

I have some of those but not right now..I have 2 others..not from here..

I would rather use my own or someone else's Sims as townies/downtownies..because even if I use those templates the old genes might still be in there..and I certainly don't want that hehe

Well, default face templates are great, no doubts...but if the sims you love and downloaded use the original faces..they won't look the same after adding defaults.
And no, creating new Townies/Downtownies won't get rid of the ones the game already created. You'll just have more.
So..you have a few choices...
Either create a wonderful cemetery and..well...it's empty right? fill it up! lol
Or...you could, use alt sim surgery to replace them by your lovely sims, instead of putting your lovely sims on a lot and turn them into Townies/Downtonies.

That's funny..yep a cemetery would get filled up real quick like hehe..

I usually have a cemetery just for that stupid cow..I put in on the back lot of a house I build and then put a fence around that cow and well it either lives there passed out most of the time or dies hehe..

There are more in depth tutorials about using sim surgery in SimPE, or its useful plugin (alt) sim surgery. Once you did it, it's no biggie.
