It probably has mirrored UVs (that's the unwrapped mesh in 2D format which tells where on the mesh it is supposed to put the texture from a flat picture).
Sometimes there is too little space on the map, so the sides are mapped in the same spot. It works for some recolors, but not for those with writing or other textures that clearly looks mirrored.
There are two solutions: Either remap the mesh, or put a different texture in the spot that does not look mirrored.
