Why ban them? That just gives them more publicity.

Actually, I think it's rather cool that we're "The Site Which Shall Not Be Named" instead. Henceforth, I suggest all MTS2 folks, when it is necessary to refer to us there, to do so as "The Site Which Shall Not Be Named". Because that's just a cool name. We're Unspeakably Evil!

I do the updates at TSR and am surprised re: the no mention situation. Many sites updates are posted that also offer nude skins (although the updates for the nude skins are not). Guess I'd better PM a Mod to clarify what I should be updating.

I rushed over to post the no jump bug fix only to remember the info posted here re: the no mention. I'm amazed by the many terrific "fixes" you've made. The jump out problem made several of my houses unplayable after the first couple of weeks and, now, most aren't enjoyable to play. Can't wait to use the fix.

Luckily many other forums are already abuzz with the great things offered here. :D

The ONLY reason MTS2 has 20,000+ members is because of the adult content. This is not a modding site, its a nudie-stuff site, and as a modder myself, I'm a little disgusted by that. I won't dictate to the administration of this site what is right and wrong, but as far as I am concerned, this is not a modding site. If there had never been adult content here, this site would probably still only have a couple thousand members at best, with maybe a hundred active.

Don't delude yourself about what goes on here. This site is popular because it offers simulated nudity, and for little else. I'm quite saddened by that, since I was originally hoping that some true modding efforts could take place here. I think TSR's decision was a decent one, regardless of what nation the administration is a member of. This site could have been so much better, so much more useful, but it seems member count is more important than usefullness. Its very, very sad.

Dark Matter, *not* a modding site?

Have you looked at the beta test subforum lately? How about SimPE? Every important development in Sims2 modding has had part of its birth or beta test cycle here.

You can get naked skins at dozens of sites. You can beta the latest hacked objects, major bugfixes and mod programs only here.

TSR's decision is reprehensible. All adult content here is protected from kid's eyes--and we're talking about content that is miles from pornographic to begin with.

Since the jump bug fix beta, there are now dozens of people over at TSR all clamoring to find out where this "mystery site" is that has all this great stuff.... All they've done is draw attention here and highlight their own inconsistant prudishness.

The actual number of members does not matter. The fact that we have adult downloads doesn't matter either.

The fact is, Darkmatter - and you'd know this if you actually read through the site - is that this *is* a modding site, it *is* very useful, and true modding efforts *do* take place here. The beta testers forum is great for people to get feedback. The forums are very active. You can't tell me that everybody who visits is just into adult downloads.

Yeah, so it's got more than the 10 people you're used to working with, but thats a good thing in my book. Who *cares* what the bulk of the users are here for? It doesn't matter a dime so long as actual modding goes on. Which it does. Large user bases can be *very* beneficial to game modding, and this site has the resources and the member to do a LOT with a game like the Sims 2. It's unfortunate that you don't see it that way.

Just becuase MTS2 doesn't conform to your little view of the world doesn't mean you have to slate it and be disgusted by it.

I'm going to stop here before I really get annoyed.

Let's see...I have to take exception to what you say DarkMatter. I've created one item that landed in the adult section, but I never download anything from there for my own reasons. That is NOT why I am part of this site.

This site is responsible for helping me share some of my creations. Oh, and it's responsible for my sims being able to move and not lose their career rewards too. Oh, and if I ever get bored with working my sims skills up the old fashioned way, this site will be responsible for me not having to do that too.

In essense, this site is VERY responsible for me being able to play MY game how *I* want too.

<sarcasm>What a CRIME!</sarcasm>

Delphy, (and I have to say thankyou everytime I respond, because you are so great for making and maintaining this site), Wintermute was suggesting we remove TSR stuff, since you asked.

I think Darkmatter is still fuming over the XML format of SimPE as mirroring his design. I don't know the details of that little spat, but Darkmatter, your post above just doesn't ring true. Maybe the member count, but this site gets a lot of mention everywhere b/c the game mods. I do find it strange how few posts there are compared to members, but that's a really good thing I think. Not many people landing here to get the latest game hack are going to want to discuss BHAVs. They want the end results. People can't contribute to every project under the sun.

DARKMATTER - Modding to any useful degree is difficult. There is less modding stuff and more adult stuff because nipples are easy and reengineering is not. It has nothing to do with the desire for nips over mods, it's because there just plain isn't a huge amount of significant mods yet. If it's so freaking "sad" and "disgusting," make yourself "usefull" and do some more modding instead of blaming the site for not providing mods that don't yet exist.

Darkmatter, it has also come to my attention you have resorted to threatening members in PM's, and generally hassling people over your bitterness due to SimPE's success, and your program being left in the dust. Threats and Harrasment will NOT endear you here or get people to like you, or your program. I will not mention the involved parties, however i will suggest to those that recieved the threatening PM's on this site to forward them and alert the Admins here so steps can be taken. Your actions and comments of late are not appreciated, nor warranted. (no, it wasn't me he threatened, but a couple of very respected and cared about people in this community we have here.) This animosity towards this site, the other programmers and modders is rediculous. If you don't like it here, stay out of here. We don't need more idiocy and foolishness. That helps absolutely noone.

Hmm. Been to TSR once and never went back. Oh well, I'll just tell the COBBS crew to come here for all their nude sim needs.

this is a modding site but cos it has nudey skins on it it's also classified as an adult site. which means your not going to be welcome in a few places. my advice is just ignore them places sooner or later you'll find a way to advertise your adult content in secret...like i have hehehehe

Wait, DarkMatter's program is being left in the dust by SimPE? What'd he make? Is he the guy who made TS2E, or something?

In his profile, it states that he's behind a program called DatGen (not familiar with it, think I've heard of it).
Anyhow, back on topic... Sims Resource, eh? Used to be a fairly steady follower of that site, dropping in to see what there was and all, until I noticed that there were some interesting hacked objects out there and whatnot. Came back, it was a subscription site, and, well... well, the content they had coming in was, as stated, mainly recolorings of various things, for the most part.
In summation, I talk way too much and say too little.

DarkMatter made a prg called DatGen, originally for SimCity 4 and The Sims Online, which also happens to work for Sims 2. But with the advent of SimPe, it seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Personally, I don't think most of the new members come here for the adult stuff, but like me, come here to see what's happening with the modding scene (or it seems to get Pescado's jump bug fix judging from the number of new members, and the speed of the server since its release).

Not being a programmer, I really don't have a whole lot to add to any discussion, so I usually don't; but I do read most of the discussions that do go on, and I'm pretty sure that most of the silent majority of members tend to do the same.

TSR can do what they think is best for their members,BUT most of the people from there come here anyway. And i have downloaded some mature skins from there just before they started charging people for stuff that was easy to make yourself(or find FREE elsewhere).Im not into namecalling but in this case they're hypocrites.Sims 2 skins are alot easier to do than in sims 1.No one should charge for them.

Although it seems the current hot item now is the Teen Woohoo Mod. That one is getting even more press than the jump bug fix.

Goodness gracious. People making a game that simulates life more lifelike...

THAT'S why I like nude skins. Don't call me a pervert for just that. Maybe the Teen Woo-Hoo is arguable, but I have it anyway. It happens in life, so why shouldn't it happen in "MY game".)

This site rocks!!! Admins, don't worry so much about the organization of it. What goes on here is worth the trouble of fishing around to find, and discover.

Please, keep it up! (I'm filling up now, so I'd best go.)

Slim

By the way, thanks, Moonbeat, for reminding all of us that it is, in your words, "MY game!"

This is so lame of TSR, MTS2 is a valuable resource for TS2 players and should be encouraged not ignored! Nudity & sex are normal part of everyday life and do no harm what so ever. It's their loss (well also all their members).

This site is thought of primarily as a modding site, it just happens to have adult themed mods & skins as well.

Don't change... grow!

Oh and remember if you don't like the idea of something being in your game then don't add it, but don't tell others they can't it's none of your business.

*shrugs* The reigns have been tightening over at TSR for some time, and the forums aren't the only place where the "smackdown" is being implemented. I have friends there, I stick around for them mostly, that does not keep me from seeing MTS2 as a gem to the community. I am a bit upset by the risque skins on TSR, but it is only because of the "family-oriented" banner being waved so forcefully.
