Can one make parts of wallpapers glow?
I'm trying to find a way to make parts of a wallpaper glow, i.e. to make it look lit when in shadow. Think of a wallpaper depicting a computer screen let into the wall. The screen should look bright even when the wall is cast in shadow.

I know one can make objects glow by adjusting the blending mode in the material definition file (TXMT). Unfortunately I can't get this to work for wallpapers. Switching "stdMatAlphaBlendMode" to "blend" and "stdMatEmissiveCoef" to "1,1,1" doesn't seem to make a difference for wallpapers.

The second problem is restricting the effect to only parts of the texture. Is it possible to make several layers of a texture, and have independent material definitions for each one? I have tried this by having 2 texture files and 2 corresponding txmt files, one with blending on the other having it off. However the 2 texture files seemed to conflict and the game didn't display them.

Unfortunately I'm a complete newbie with SimPE and have not done any modding for the sims before so I apologise if my questions seem a bit confused.

Thanks for any tips you can give.

I've only known there can be completely glowing wallpapers, invisible wallpapers and surely the flashing ones !

may try to recolour this for a glow-in-dark feature but the not to glow parts should stay as dark as you can
