This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Game card cannot be recognized by The Sims
Hello,

I tried to follow your directions to help configure the device config log in order to get my card recognized, but I need additional help. I'm not clear on what to do. I found the 2 sgr files, made copies and added ".orig" to the end of them both. That's about as far as I got before I was confused. Could you please help me with this? I have a XFX R7 260, which I specifically bought due to it being on a list of cards that the game is compatible with (smh).

Thank you for your time.

Nitromon, they are using a Gforce card though. This still applies to me? I did search for help before posting and saw this, but thought I couldn't use the info.

Ok, yes. That's the tutorial I used and got lost after changing those sgr files.

To pick a device code from the sgr file, is it more important to be closer to the device number or the type of series the card is? I think I'm making some progress.

I think you're making this more difficult than it needs to be. Well, actually that's because you're following that tutorial, which is more difficult than it needs to be.

I think I make just about everything harder than it needs to be smh. Ok I'm going to work on this. Thank you. I'll be back

Ok so all I did was this. Make those 2 new sgr files in bin. I opened the graphicsrule note pad and entered this:

seti textureMemory 1024
setb textureMemorySizeOK false

I saved.

I opened the graphicscard sgr and changed one of the device numbers listed to my own.

That's all I did. Naturally I did something wrong because there is still no match. I apologize in advance for not being able to follow along Sorry.

I have no idea what you mean about memory texture. I don't know what I'm doing here Nitro. Eek.
My card is a XFX-R7-260X-ZNJ4
Thank you

I fiddled around while you were gone.. Omg .. I messed around in the graphicscards.srg. Doing this:

"If you open GraphicsCards.sgr and search for 0x6819 (use your own Device ID#, of course), it won't be there.
Analyze the other entries for the model similar to yours, I just used the entry from the previous generation model.
So, in my case I added the line by copying and pasting"

When the game started and I went to aerial view everything got black. When I checked the deviceconfig log it only had 2 lines"

But I made a copy of the graphicrules file so I put the original back in. What a mess. Now I'm going to try what you told me above. Thank you so much. I hope this works.

I can't save the graphicsrules.sgr

I already had those numbers for the texture memory, but I didn't have the hashtag. I put the numbers in earlier.

I reopened the graphicscard again .. the numbers I inserted were gone. The original 6798 was there again. And now I can't save this file either :*(

Nitromom!

I right clicked on those 2 files. I went to security and gave myself all access. Those files could then be saved. I started the game. Look at my device config ..........
