Uninstalling
I love the Sims2Pack Clean Installer, but it isn't working as I want it to. I am trying to uninstall the version I have now (it is a very old one), and my plan was to install the latest version. Unfortunately, I'm having problems uninstalling. It isn't located in my Programs and Files folder, and therefore I can't do anything about it. It works in the way that it keeps all of my downloads in place, but it doesn't actually install Sims2Packs. I know I could use the default one, but that is just....not working....at all. So please, can anyone help? Thanks!

You will need to clean the registry.

One option is to use a registry cleaner, such as CCleaner:
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Another is to use regedit to remove the registry entries manually. Here are some instructions about how to use regedit, including backing up and navigating the tree:
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...egistry_Entries

Be sure not to remove the keys specified in that article, since those keys are for the game itself.

Here are the registry keys which are added by the installer. You should remove any of these keys that you find:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\S2PCI
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Sims2Pack Clean Installer
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Approved *
    {4ADF8C01-0AC7-4403-888C-012E6EA2F67E} = Sims2Pack Clean Installer Shell Extension
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Sims2Pack Clean Installer
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sims2Pack Clean Installer
* Don't delete your entire list of approved shell extensions. Just delete the one line listed.

Please stick to one thread. It's difficult to help someone when they have the same issue open in multiple places.
